- “ The Eternal Flame and the failure of man. Amorus Pleeksty. I enjoy his work. ”
Description[]
Amorus Pleeksty is a legendary former Black Diver, known for inventing Flamecharm and being one of the two known Deepwoken, the other being the First Prophet of The Ministry. This status of being a Deepwoken grants immortality. He is currently in the Third Layer of The Depths, also known as The Vents.
Amorus ate a part of the Drowned God of the Third Layer, Korilfiend, in the form of a meteor flower he encountered in the gardens of the layer. This is what gave him his pyrokinetic powers, allowing him to talk to, command, and "charm" fire itself. This resulted in him inventing the modern art of Flamecharm, turning what was originally a crude magic largely conjured by accident into an actual technique. He is described as extremely powerful, with ragoozer stating that Amorus "would beat Akira up and down the eastern lum."
He is one of two known people to go to the Third Layer. He is worshipped by the Covenant of Flame and the Flame Worshippers, although he sees them as more of a fan club. He is also revered by Tirans as a whole, with many carving floral patterns into their weapons to honor him.
Trivia[]
- Pleeksty has been refered to as Pleeksty, Pleektsy and Pleetsky. For the sake of consistency, this page will use Pleeksty.
- He has some disciples, the most notable being Venn Kaelhand, who is the original wielder of the First Light.
- Ploom, an NPC found in Lance Leshi's shop, can be seen reading a book of Amorus.
- Additionally, Ploom says that not many competent Flamecharmers are out in the East Luminant, signifying that Amorus may be from the West Luminant.
- Amorus was originally a Ganymede, and set to appear in the main game. The NPC that was originally Pleeksty was reworked into Ploom. He was later said to be a Vesperian, but was then said to be a Tiran, which led to some doubt on what aspect Pleeksty was supposed to be.
- According to ragoozer, he has the best dance moves.
- Pleeksty did not invent the attunement itself, instead he revolutionised it by learning how to control the flames themselves.
