Attributes are player stats that can be increased to a soft cap of 75 points (77 if the player character has a race that starts with +2 in that specific attribute, or 78 if they start with +3), and unbounded to a hard cap of 100 points (likewise, 102 if the player character race starts with +2 in that specific attribute or 103 if they start with +3) via an unbound quest for that attribute.

Basic Attributes[]

Attributes can be increased by using its respective attribute Training Gear in order to spend your current investment points. When creating a character you start off with 15 free investment points plus an additional 2 or 3 points in two stats dependent on your race (i.e. Felinors get 3 points in agility and 2 points in charisma). You need both attribute EXP, earned through using an attribute, and regular EXP, earned through kills, exploration, quests etc. Below is a summarized list of Basic Attributes and what you have to use in order to dedicate an investment point into it.

You can have a maximum of 330 points on a character at Power 20 (+1 for each extra Attunement you have, although if you drink an attunement potion before you've invested all of your points, it will use a point)

  • 300 from levels.
  • 10 from attunement (Attunement-less characters instead spawn in with an extra 10 investment points to distribute freely.)
  • 5 from race (excluding Lightborns).
  • 15 from character creation.
  • 1 from second Attunement (not required for all characters, but is set aside).
Attributes Chart 2.0

Unbounding any Attribute will unbound it automatically for your new characters whenever you get 75(77/78 with race stat bonus) Attribute points. Unbounding a single Attribute will not unbound any other Attribute, this applies only to the Attribute you have unbounded manually. This applies to every slot on your account. THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO WEAPON & ATTUNEMENT.

Tips[]

  • A useful site to help plan out your build is https://deepwoken.co/builder. Also refer to Talents, Mantras, Resonance, Murmur, and Oaths to see what you wish to include in your build.
  • A great tool training charisma is https://charisma-trainer.vercel.app.
  • Experimentation is the best way to learn what kind of builds you enjoy! There are many creative builds that one can make! See what works and learn from your voyages.
  • You may sometimes spend all your investment points yet still not power up. This means you got enough regular EXP to increase a stat, but not enough to level up.
  • If you lack regular EXP, using training gear will give the message "I've learnt what I can from training right now, I should put it into practice..."
  • If you lack attribute EXP, using training gear will give the message "I can feel my <attribute> improving...". The attribute will automatically increase once you get enough attribute EXP. You can cancel this by clicking on the grey arrow next to the attribute in the inventory screen.
  • If you need to uncap an attribute, you get the message "I've hit a wall in my training. Maybe there's some way to break it?"
  • Make sure to be leveling up all of your stats at the same time for faster leveling and better Talents Leveling faster DOES NOT mean that you're necessarily getting stronger. Rather, leveling attributes individually will help you get the Talents you need in a more efficient way by causing less clutter in the Potential Receivable Talents pool.
  • When starting off, considering which attributes are your most important will help guide you in your run. For some people, they'll want to raise Agility first so they can get Agility Talents before they raise Fortitude. Rare cards especially benefit from this method of leveling, as per the reason stated above - as well as having quicker access to those cards.
