Description[]
Authority Commanders are high-ranking members of The Central Authority. The rank of "Commander" fits them very well, they have the combat skills of an experienced player and a huge health pool, making them a true challenge. At least ONE Commander is located within the prison of Fort Merit, in a room staring at some empty shelves. An Authority Commander can also be found in the Etris: Siege event.

Their arsenal is composed of either an Adretian Axe or Cavalry Saber along with the Flamecharm Attunement, and some hand-to-hand combat:

Passives[]
- Experienced Fighter - Can block and parry common attacks and mantras.
- Mantra Modification - An Authority Commander's "Flame Repulsion" mantra is modified with either 3 Cloudstones or 2 Stratus Stones.
Talents[]
- Eruption Path: Lava Serpent - Your fire abilities proc an eruption under the enemies feet instead of burn.
- Empowered Eruption - Your next Eruption after landing a critical is empowered with increased range and damage.
- Flash Point - Block-breaking an enemy with a fire mantra applies Burning. Posture breaking an opponent will also cause your Eruptions to be Empowered for the next 10s.
- The Floor is Lava - Your Eruptions leave lethal pools of lava beneath them.
- Mirage Clone - Successfully dodging leaves behind a heat mirage clone that sets enemies that swung at you on fire.
- Azure Flames - Many of your flames turn blue, signifying their increased intensity.
- Riot Breaker - You receive 15% less posture damage and deal 10% more posture damage when under attack by 3 or more enemies.
- Immolation - Fire spells cost 70% less ether while on fire. If you hit someone while on fire, apply fire damage. You take 50% less damage from self-inflicted flames.
- Phoenix Flames - Any time you would burn to death, you instead rise again with 50% of your health restored.
- Corpse Explosion - Bodies that you burn to death immediately explode dealing massive damage. Your flames will also incinerate unconscious targets much faster.
- Controlled Combustion - Your Agitating Spark no longer spreads to your allies.
- Audacity - Once you've brought down your prey, instill fear into all those who would separate you from claiming it.
- Impervious Slumber - Getting hit while knocked no longer resets your time knocked.
Tips[]
- They can be assassinated, if they happen to not look in your direction/or were not alerted consider doing the following and pile up some damage with powerful mantras.
- At almost any given time they'll try to use their mantras while performing an M1 combo.
- Expect Authority Peacekeepers and other nearby Authority NPCS to interfere with your fight.
- You'll frequently get into a parry battle with the Commander, so feint to disrupt it.

Trivia[]
- You used to be able to pickpocket the Authority Commander for the Jail Keys, but it required the Pickpocket Talent to do so.
- This was the only NPC you could pickpocket so far.
- You cannot talk with them. Previously, attempting to do so would pickpocket them instead.
- They wear the Authority Commander Outfit, an Authority Helm, and a Black Shrouded Cape.
