Description[]
Black Divers are enemies from The Divers that can spawn either in Castle Light at a low chance or in Villain Reputation Ambush Events.
Their appearance consists of the Black Diver Outfit and a randomized Aspect.
Moveset[]
A Black Diver's arsenal consists of either a Forgotten Gladius, Markor's Inheritor or Pale Morning which can be Enchanted along with either the Thundercall or Galebreathe attunement and the Dawnwalker Oath.

- Battle Tendency - Black Divers recover posture 20% faster.
- Brick Wall - Black Divers are immune to all form of ragdolls, beside being knocked. Knockdowns duration are reduced by 30%
- Surge Path: Unstable Capacitor - Black Divers Lightning mantras apply Surge instead of Shock. At maximum stack, target become Overloaded, which sends arcs of lightning in all directions.
- Braced Collapse - Black Divers take reduced damage from the next hit they take after being guard broken.
- Showstopper - Black Divers stomp the grounds when an attack is dodged, dazing those nearby.
- Strong Stern - Black Divers are Dazed for half the time if wall banged.
- Perseverance - Black Divers wake up from being knocked faster.
- Underdog - Black Divers deal more against enemies with more HP than them. They also deal +10% more damage to Monsters.
- Defiance - Negative Status effects are halved when Black Divers are below 35% HP.
- Last Resort - Black Divers gain +10% damage while below 25% HP.
- Steady Footing - Black Divers resist knockback effects and do not slide on ice.
- Suffocating Impact - Black Divers apply Suffocation and Winded after a wall bang.
- Heavy Hitter - Black Divers deal +10% posture damage with heavy weapon basic attacks.
- Concussion - Being flourished into a wall by a Black Diver alter vision and Daze for longer.
- Static Link - Black Divers landing a Flourish or Uppercut apply a static link.
- Storm Link - Black Divers apply Shock (Surge because of Surge Path) to enemies with a static link if hit with a Wind mantra.
- Chronostasis - Black Divers put target's Resonance on a short cooldown when they land hits.
- Protagonist Syndrome - The grasp of shadow is meaningless in the face of the Black Diver's blinding light. The Black Diver's Dawnwalker mantras are empowered after being hit by Shadowcast.
- Luminous Flash - After dealing a certain amount of damage while in "Absolute Radiance", the Black Diver gains a chance to empower their strikes with pure light.
- Absolute Radiance - Dealing damage with Dawnwalker mantras briefly makes the Black Diver's immune to all elemental effects for a short period.

Tips[]
- Fight them like any other humanoid NPC with a weapon.
- Their wide moveset requires a bit of getting used to. Thankfully, these NPCS aren't very common.
- Remember that killing these guys will take some time; they have 10,000 health.
- Can take on most Monsters in The Depths due to their (fittingly) large health pool.

Trivia[]
- Originally, Black Divers replaced the Divers Guards at Castle Light to improve its safety, they were however replaced with Journeymen Divers on January 16th, 2023 due to their presence contradicting the established low number and high power level of actual Black Divers.
- They then went unused until the May 15th, 2023 update, which brought Faction Ambushes, which reintroduced them as part of high level ambushes.
- If you talk to one in The Understrand, they will begin attacking you as the only way you can find one there is if you have bad Reputation with The Divers.
- They are one of the few enemies that use Oaths, with the other enemies being the Ignition Union Arcwarder, Subtle Knife of Eylis, Old Knife of Eylis, Ministry Enforcer, and all four Starkindred enemies.
- They use both variants of Jolt Grab, that being the Magnet Spark variant and the base version.
- Curiously, The Hundred Legions are hostile towards them.
