Tips[]
- It's an instructor, he's meant for practicing basic combat abilities.
- Same skill level as a non-dagger Bandit Leader and does not wield any attunements.
- You can use the Training Vest to train fortitude by letting him hit you. Most effective at early levels.
- You can basically train all your stats on him on early levels.
- Easily killed if you know how to parry.
- Recommend for any new players to train on this guy before fighting any other NPCs.
Trivia[]
- The Instructor can be killed by using moves that instantly grip opponents when they are on low HP, using certain moves, like Mani Katti, and employing burn. You can also grip him with help of the Poser's Ring with a Katana or Shattered Katana, dealing enough damage and then sheathing your katana will knock him and you can grip him.[1]
- The Blade Temple Guards do not react should an Instructor be gripped near them.[1]
- Defeating one sometimes grants positive reputation with the Kingdom of Etrea, usually when you don't get a health pack from killing them.
- Logging while in combat with him will result in losing a life.
- Gripping them will prompt them to say 'Hey, what do you think you're doing?!'
- You can glitch an instructor by starting the spar and not doing anything at all.
- To fix it, you just need to defeat him.
- There is a secret text bubble that appears if the player is knocked due to hunger or other means while in a battle with him that says "Not bad, but not good enough," which could be due to the Instructor being meant to knock the player
