Description

The Boltcrusher is a Legendary Greathammer: a powerful engine cased with various parts and plates atop a wieldy metal spine. On the back of the hammer's head is a driven drill, and on its front is a weighted blunt piece to offset the weight of the drill and deal damage. It scales with Thundercall alongside Heavy Weapons.

Drilling-edge Ignition Union technology, the Boltcrusher was devised by Ignition Deepdelvers in order to assist in Depths resource extraction.

The Boltcrusher is obtained as a guaranteed drop from Finnegan The Lost, an enemy NPC found in the First Layer of The Depths as part of the "Drowned Delver" Job. The Job itself can be taken from Job Boards scattered in a variety of locations, with an increased spawnrate at the Chariot's Spire.

The Boltcrusher has two variants of its Critical Attack, which will change depending on the user's movement state.

Standing: The user reels back the weapon and flips it to the backhand side with the drill, then swings it forward and drills into the opponent. They then spin around and clobber the enemy with the hammerhead side of the weapon.

Running: The user lifts the Boltcrusher up above their head before slamming it into the ground using the hammerhead side, creating a shockwave of lightning.

Both the running and the standing version share a cooldown of 10 seconds. This cooldown is decreased to 8 seconds if the user has the Warmaster Medallion equipped.

Trivia

• The line "From depths to peaks across the land, the Union's tools ignite; a path is blown. Onwards we march, powered by a spark." from the item's description is a reference to The Hammer's Call, the Ignition Union's in-universe anthem.
• Due to a bug, being guardbroken by the Boltcrusher's running Critical will prevent M1 attacks.
• This weapon is one of two weapons that is able to mine ores, the other being the Quartztone Pickaxe.
