Not to be confused with Shrine of Courage and Shrines (aka Fountain Gates).

Description[]

Deep Shrines are a group of 10 shrines sharing identical appearance (excluding Solitude), scattered across the Lumen. Each bestows different deals in exchange for the client's knowledge. Each Deep Shrine can be found in a unique location in the overworld as well as the Temple of Hearts, accessible by Deepbounds and anyone who has obtained their resonance.

Limitations[]

Deep Shrines can only be interacted with after approximately ~10 minutes of spawning, so trying to Deepbound won't work.

Shrines[]

Shrine of Temptation: Trade a Mantra of your choice and 5 Knowledge to gain a Whisper Draw.

Shrine of Blasphemy: For 5 Knowledge, POWER 1-16 instantly Power Up 3 times, gaining the relevant amount of Talents and Whisper Draws, Or POWER 17-20 reroll a Flaw of your choice into another, random Flaw.

Shrine of Mastery: For 1 Knowledge, trade 1 of your Trait Points into another Trait. You can also remove attribute points.

Shrine of Chance: Trade a Talent of your choice and 5 Knowledge to perform a Talent Draw with up to 3 cards of the same rarity. (Common = Advanced)

Shrine of Order: For 10 Knowledge, balance your stats (up to a limit of -25 points on main stats, with no limit on attunement stats,) but gain a random Flaw. Can only be done once per character. You must need POWER 8+ AND NO OATH to use this.

Shrine of Ostentation: For 10 Knowledge, transfer a Common or Advanced Talent into a random Rare Talent and vice versa.

Shrine of Conceit: For 1 Knowledge, unburn a card of your choice. Note that the Ace is NOT REFUNDED.

Shrine of Division: For 5 Knowledge and a Mantra of your choice, obtain a Roll 2.
Shrine of Unification: For 5 Knowledge and 2 Talents of your choice, get a Whisper Draw.

Shrine of Solitude: This shrine acts like a Mystic, allowing you to affect your card draws.

Trivia[]

  • Ganymedes can do deep deals with a discount of 1 knowledge off of all shrines, except the Shrine of Conceit and the Shrine of Mastery.
  • Deep Shrines, most notably the Shrine of Chance and the Shrine of Order, are obvious references to the roguelite Risk of Rain 2, sharing their names with and functioning similarly to the Shrine of Chance and Shrine of Order from that game.
    • In Risk of Rain 2, the Shrine of Chance takes money in exchange for a chance to gain an item (cannot be used after succeeding twice, cost increases each attempt), and the Shrine of Order randomly selects one item from each rarity and converts all other items of the same rarity to the selected item.
    • Ironically, in that game, Shrine of Order was more or less a joke, providing no utility whatsoever.
      • It was theorized this was the intent behind Deepwoken's Shrine of Order, but due to it actually allowing for the creation of extremely powerful builds, the developers found themselves unable to roll back the change without creating huge backlash as well as resulting in builds that existed before any changes to the Shrine being far more powerful than any new ones after the changes.
  • You can use any shrine besides Solitude to obtain Contractor, however, Shrine Of Order is currently bugged and does not count towards Contractor progression.
  • Deep Shrines may be a means for Yun'Shul to communicate, due to them appearing in the Temple of Hearts. Both the main shrine and Deep Shrines speak using the same font, as well as engaging in deals.
  • The Shrine of Solitude is unique in that it:
    • Is present in a dungeon.
    • Has no visible "eyes".
    • Talks in lowercase, unlike all other shrines.
      • It is also much less hostile, asking only to lessen its solitude (whereas other shrines degrade you and command you a puppet).
  • Before Shrine of Ostentation, the only way to obtain more Rare Talents on a fully progressed build was to obtain either Ardour or Rhythm and their child Talents, Ardour Scream or Spotter. Then after removing your Murmur with a Yun'Shul wish, you would be granted a new Talent hand that was guaranteed to have a rare Talent in it.
    • This method was extremely tedious if you were missing more than one rare, very expensive, and not every build could utilize it.
  • Shrine of Solitude will softlock you from the game, making you unable to move, attack, block, parry, or dodge while Trial of One is in the process of just spawning in a new mob.
  • As of the 28/02/2023 patch, Shrine of Order's 25 stat point reduction limit does not work on attunements.
