Community Quality Standards

The community quality standards outline the preferred structure and display of content for this Wiki. Each Wiki has its own unique set of quality standards that dictate how Editors should contribute to articles in a proper manner. This is essential when it comes to showcasing the informative value of this Wiki for the Deepwoken community.

This article and our rules have the same level of authority and enforceability.

Recommended Reads

  • This is a list of suggested Fandom articles to help you get started with editing on our Wiki. You are not obligated to read them, but they are available as a useful resource whenever you encounter difficulties. You can also reach out to Wiki Staff members for assistance or join our Discord server to interact with other editors.

General information

  • The language used in this Wiki is American English, therefore spelling and grammar must be concise and clear.
  • Write professionally, strive to be brief and clear whenever possible.
  • When creating new articles, make sure they contain sufficient information. If you are unable to complete a page in one sitting, use the InProgress template and update the page within a week.
    • This is because some Editors only create articles without regularly updating them for months or even years. This creates more work for dedicated Editors who edit articles with complete information and can be frustrating for players seeking information in the game and not finding any.
  • Unless specified below, bullet points must be KEPT IN TRIVIA ONLY.
  • The introduction in the opening line are the titles of the article, which should be written in bold.
    • Every article starts with their respective templates. If there is no template for the content, do not create one yourself, but ask an administrator to create an original one.
  • Avoid using external links to pages within the same Wiki.
  • If information is incorrect or outdated, DELETE IT. Do not put a strike through and then say it has been removed or is false. This is messy, unprofessional, and makes the page a glorified forum wall.
  • Avoid adding double images (two images containing the same content) and do not replace higher resolution images with poorer ones, otherwise those new images will be removed from the articles and the Wiki.
  • Dates should be formatted with the month spelled out (i.e January 1st, 2000) instead of abbreviated with numbers (i.e 1/1/2000)
  • The Wiki is not the place for your opinions, information should strive to be factual only.
  • An article should look like it was written by the same person, who doesn't refer to themselves in the first person, or at all, gets into arguments with themselves and doesn't strike through any errors but instead corrects them subtly.
  • If you see an error, don't point it out, fix it.
  • Do not point out an error by saying "wrong" or "incorrect," articles do not contradict themselves.
  • Articles are not discord. Do not put expressions like "lol," "lmfao," "lmbfao," "lmao," "lmbao" or emoticons.
  • Examples are not recent. We are immortal, we do not know time. The word "recently" should never be added to the page, because while it might be recent when you wrote it, it won't be when someone reads the article 6 months later. For instance, saying "in the recent update" is especially bad since it won't be recent after 6 days maximum. Avoid using the word "recent" or anything synonymous.

Spelling and Grammar

  • The following should be always capitalized in articles:
    • The term 'Mantra'
    • The term 'Talent/Talent Cards'
    • The term 'Monster'
    • The term 'Resonance'
    • Item names
    • Bounty Hunting
    • Bounty Boards
    • Knowledge
    • Kyrsan Medallion
    • Place names
    • Mantra names
    • Enemy names
    • Monster names
    • NPC names
    • Outfit names
    • Equipment names
    • Enchantment names
    • Races
    • Attunement names
    • Oath names
    • Origin names
    • Resonance names
    • Faction names
    • Alchemy
    • Potion names
    • Moonseye
    • Deepwoken
    • The Depths and its layers
  • The following must always be referred to in the following way:
    • Write "The Eternal Gale" or "the Second Layer;" avoid saying "Layer 2"
    • Monsters must always be referred to be their full name, do not refer to a Megalodaunt as a "Sharko"
    • The Tears of the Edenkite Enchantment has a "the" between "of" and "Edenkite"
  • The following developers must be spelled as such:
    • Arch_Mage
    • Dexerius
    • ragoozer
    • iltria
    • K1LLUAA
    • yayafino
    • HorrorTM

Specific

Enemy

  • Each Enemy article starts with the Enemy Infobox, featuring an unedited game screenshot of them, their confirmed health (do not put speculative numbers), any drops, their weapon of choice (bullet pointed) and their moves.
    • You may notice the uncharacteristically humorous/referential captions under the image, compared to our (mostly) deathly serious articles. Unlike the vast majority of Wikis, Deepwoken Wiki does not have a complete ban on having a laugh, though seriousness elsewhere is very much enforced with very few exceptions. Tragically, being a Roblox game, we have a large demographic of very young users, and while humor is subjective, there are some things that are objectively less funny than others. As a result, users are discouraged (read: forbidden) from changing the captions for several reasons:
      • There's a high change your jokes aren't any funnier, if funny at all.
      • Their inclusion has been discussed; the policy will not change, and trying removing them will be seen as an act of vandalism will only result in the termination of the perceived vandal.
      • The person who added that is very much a person too, and they're likely not going to be happy about you replacing them. Changing captions just invites edit wars.
      • If the joke is deemed so bad that it warrants changing, leave it to Wiki Staff.
    • There are a few reasons why this is exclusive to Enemies:
      • Enemies are far more numerous and far more similar to each other than Monsters. As a result, there are few sources actually in the game talking about them in general, let alone every single one; there are very few sources for actual in-universe quotes that could be used.
      • These do not appear on mobile, so if people do take issue with them, they won't always be exposed to them.
      • These are captions, and as such do not need to cite an author, like quotes do. This makes it easier to write them and to avoid making some really unfunny jokes, that readers will die of old age reading before they even get to the punchline. For example: ""No, NO! PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!" - Duke Erisia, the Postureless, just trying to watch hit 2024 film Transformers One on streaming, when he sees a max Level with Wind-Up bell wielding the comically large Hivelord's Hubris, wearing Isshin's Ring, Maestro's Ring, Dawnfist's Ring, Prophet's Ring, proccing Lose Your Mind, eating Megurgers for extra damage, drinking Strength potions, using Ardour Scream, getting Reinforced, using Shade Devour, Raging Static, Flame Within, using Charged Return, Last Resort and the Heroism Enchantment standing in the doorway."
    • Standard rules apply when making captions, as well as a few others:
      • No sexual humor.
      • No slurs, stereotyping, or other jokes where the target/punchline is based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.
      • No profanity.
  • Description - This section contains a description of the enemy, where they are found, a bullet point list of the events they spawn in (if any) and any other noteworthy traits. The next paragraph should read: 'Their appearance only consists of a [""] outfit with their race ["varying" or specific race]'.
  • Moveset - The opening line should read: "[Enemy name]'s arsenal consists of a [weapon name(s)] along with the [attunement name(s)] attunement:"
    • Moveset table - A table for each move, including basic attacks and critical attacks as well as mantras. There is also a column for whether or not they are parryable, whether or not they are blockable and their danger rating.

Image Policy

The image policy outlines the rules for uploading and using images on the Deepwoken Wiki. It also provides guidelines on how to maintain images that you have uploaded and how they should be used throughout the Wiki.

How to upload images

You can access images from this Wiki by visiting the Images special page. From there, you can click the "Add New Image" button to upload an image using the simplified interface. Alternatively, you can also visit the special upload page to upload an image in a similar manner.

Re-Uploading

Upon trying to upload new images, you must make sure that you are not uploading a duplicate version of an image that is already present on our Wiki. To replace a file, go to the file page and upload it via the button labelled Upload a new version of this file. If your intention is to replace an existing image with a newer one, you are allowed to do so only if the newer image is of better quality or resolution than the older one. For further details on this matter, refer to the additional information provided down below.

Usage of images

Infobox images

All infobox images should be unedited screenshots taken from the game with no user interface or Points of Interest markers in the photo. The angle should be such that it does not make the subject look stretched or not proportioned. If the subject is not an item, such as an enemy, NPC, or monster, your character should NOT be in the photo. If the subject is an item, there must be minimal clutter: no armor enchants like multiplicity or entanglement. When taking photos of an NPC, stand right in front of them to avoid a bizarre angle, but make sure that the white "Interact" outline is not visible.

In general, photos should NEVER be taken in the Depths unless the NPC/Monster in question is exclusive/appears commonly there e.g. Nautilodaunt are almost always found in the Depths, and cannot be found otherwise without extreme chance. This is because of how dark it is down there, thus the lighting is always terrible.

Miscellaneous rules

  • Any modifications to the Roblox client such as shaders, changed text formats or anything obtained via exploits are strictly prohibited.
  • Certain hair items are forbidden:
    • Any hair items such as Nogora's Mahoraga or items that are attempting to emulate it or the source material it was adapted from a strictly forbidden.
    • Hair items that are not hair, including but not limited to: those that depict text, those that are helmets, the head of Freddy Fazbear from the Five Night's at Freddy's franchise, and other similar item.

Bad images

Disallowed and Inappropriate Images

Articles on this Wiki should not have images from other franchises, except for official collaborations. Additionally, digital or physical fan art (unless specifically permitted), low-quality images of Deepwoken content (unless said content has been removed), images depicting racial content, mockery towards religions, or images using religious content are not allowed. Uploading such images or ignoring warnings about them may result in a ban. Please be aware of these guidelines and refrain from uploading any disallowed images.

Images that are inappropriate, containing explicit sexual content or classified as NSFW (Not Safe For Work) are strictly prohibited on the Deepwoken Wiki. As Deepwoken is a game on Roblox, which is aimed mostly at very small children and people under the legal age, all images uploaded on the Wiki must be appropriate for all ages. Even if Deepwoken itself isn't necessarily known for having players below the age of 8, this Wiki is free to access by anyone, and the fact this game is a popular Roblox game means it will pique the interest at least one member of the wider Roblox audience. Uploading this type of content on the Wiki will result in a permanent block from all namespaces without warning. It is extremely important to ensure that all images are suitable for a general audience and adhere to our rules, guidelines and policies.

Naming images

It is generally important to ensure that images uploaded on the Wiki are properly named for an easy identification and proper housekeeping. Uploading images with random or "strange" names, such as "h67g90766434podj74647kj.jpg" or "Screenshot 2021-02-06 815653" can make it difficult for users to remember or find specific images. It is recommended to use well-defined and mnemonic (easy-to-remember) names. Additionally, there is a possibility that other Editors may rename an image to accommodate these guidelines and make it easier to identify for you and other Editors. In the case your image is hard to identify as related to Deepwoken, a name will help tell others what purpose it serves. A poorly named image with an unclear relation to Deepwoken will likely be reported and deleted, even if it is genuinely useful.
