Description
"This Umbrite blade is unlike anything you've encountered. Marked and damaged by years, it remains both fluid and rigid in a way that defies understanding. When exposed to the other weapons in your collection, tiny fibers latch onto the surface, quivering before returning to their original state, as if the blade itself were tasting, searching for a worthy match."

Description

The Dormant Splinter is a Relic rarity Sword; a black, voided twisted blade.

Meeting the requirement of MED and LVL, the damage is (5.1)
At max MED and 6 Proficiency, the damage is (8.8) (11.2 with bleed)

The Dormant Splinter can be acquired as an insanely rare drop from a Ministry Cache Agent, or by chance from a random event in the Voidsea. To get it from a Ministry Cache:

1. Obtain Shadow Travel or Shadow's Flight by crafting two Void Feathers and an Umbral Obsidian together.
2. Find an Understrand entrance. The entrance can spawn as a part of Silhuett's event, or as a random spawn in the following area, signified by their purple glow and the hex circle:
   • Outpost Antumbra
   • Minityrsa
   • The City of the Drowned
3. Use Shadow Travel or Shadow's Flight on the hex circle. You will be teleported to a Ministry Cache and the fight will be initiated.

It can alternatively be found from a variety of events in the Voidsea, including bosses, as well as the Saramaed Hollow.

Crafting

The main use for the Dormant Splinter is to be crafted into other weapons, through use of The Cold Forge. There are only two weapons at the moment, but more may be added.

Recipes:

Fondant Splitter = Dormant Splinter + Cake + Sword

Umbrite Witherblade = Dormant Splinter + 3x Umbrite + Razor Cutlass

Critical

The User will try to enhance the power with darkness upon usage but due to its abysmal hitbox, will only usually hit if you are running.

Trivia

• The second worst weapon in the entire game for both PvE and PvP due to its unbearable 5 base damage. The only weapon worse than this is Formless Shard, which has 5 damage with no scaling.
• The Splinter emits a sound that resembles breathing and a heartbeat. The Splinter also has an animation when equipped that resembles lungs expanding.
• It was inspired by the Broken Hero Sword from Terraria.
