Description[]

The Etrean Guardsmen are an NPC type of neutral enemies that are found in Etris. They use common Etrean weapons along with Galebreathe Mantras. Upon killing one, more tend to come, quickly swarming the player. After killing a sufficient amount of them, Royal Guards will start hunting you.

Etrean Guardsmen wear the Etrean Guard Expert Outfit, and they are all Etrean (with varying skin tones and aspect variants)

Behavior[]

The Etrean Guardsmen are passive towards the player unless the player attacks them, or has negative reputation with Etrea.

An Etrean Guardsman will sometimes feint.

They have a passive which makes them immune to PVE scaling, meaning that even if you're power 20, it may take a good couple of hits to take one down.

Moveset[]

An Etrean Guardsmen's arsenal consists of either a Battleaxe, Ritual Spear or Mace along with the Galebreathe attunement:

Attacks[]

Name Description Parryable? Blockable? Danger
Assault [Battleaxe & Mace] Firmly swings weapon at opponent and finishing up the combo by kicking them.

[Ritual Spear] Firmly thrusts weapon at opponent and finishing up the combo by kicking them.

(★☆☆)
Critical [Battleaxe & Mace] Raises weapon before slamming it into the ground below.

[Ritual Spear] Enters a stance before performing a quick swipe, will perform an additional short lunge if the first hit lands.

(★★☆)
Gale Lunge User lunges forward with their weapon coated in wind. (★★☆)

Passives[]

  • Impervious - Immune to PvE scaling.

Trivia[]

  • There is an Etrean Guardsmen who stands near a hole, guarding the entrance to Etris near the Blacksmith and Polis. Their pathfinding is somewhat mediocre, which often leads to them falling through the hole into the ocean below.
    • As they were more often than not in the ocean, they were nicknamed Conditioned Swimmer, after the Conditioned Runner Talent. They were eventually modified so they would be teleported back to spawn should they fall through the hole.
  • Not much to say about these guys...
