Description[]

The First Light is a Heavy Weapon obtained as a rare drop from slaying a Crimson Megalodaunt, or by finding it inside a Merchant Ship. It has unique animations and a unique critical.
Critical[]
The user plunges their sword into the ground, similar to Flame Eruption, causing everyone near the user to be burnt. This is followed up with flaming swords raining from the sky, similar to the Crimson Megalodaunt's Bombastic Roar. Both parts of this critical scale on your Flamecharm invest and only on your Flamecharm invest. Oddly enough, both parts of this critical will receive a damage nerf during the rain if you don't have the Unyielding Inferno Talent.
The plunge deals 20 Flamecharm damage with 5 Flamecharm scaling (30 damage at 100 Flamecharm), 5.5 posture damage, applies burn, and continues the critical to the second stage even if parried or whiffed entirely.
The swords from the sword rain deal 13 damage with 5 Flamecharm scaling (19.5 damage at 100 Flamecharm) and 1.5 posture damage. The swords do not apply burn and cannot proc any enchant or "on critical" Talent effect (like Manipulator). The swords are also 360 blockable.
This critical is mostly used as a distraction or pressure as opposed to dealing actual damage due to the randomness of the swords and the large area it covers. Has the longest Crit Cooldown ingame of 30 seconds. Furthermore, while the initial eruption procs flames, THE FALLING SWORDS DO NOT.

Trivia[]
- Compared to other greatswords, this one looks more modern as the design resembles a more modern-designed blade and handle with designs and patterns of edges and gold crafted into it, rather than a basic flat blade with some carvings scratched into it, like the Darksteel Greatsword.
- The hilt and blade resemble the Medieval European sword design, meant to resemble a crucifix. This suggest a more modern but also Western origin.
- One of four greatswords (Others being the Kyrsieger, Enforcer's Blade and Railblade), that has no endlag on m1s.
- Deals 37 damage at 75 HVY, and roughly 40.8 damage at 100 HVY.
- The special animations for this sword may be the old Railblade animations because when you spawn in Visionshaper clones, they will utilize the older animations of the First Light.
- Back then, it had its own M1 animations. As it was later then removed, because "It was unfinished and buggy." However they have been recently remade.
- The swords from the sword rain on the critical are not counted as "weapon damage" or "basic attacks" for any effect in the game. This allows them to do things like not lose damage if you have a Ring of Casters equipped, but also not gain damage if you have Shade Devour active.
- First Light was given a new critical along with it's reworked animations in an update, with the new critical having the ability to summon blades of fire from the sky.
- Currently, First Light's critical does not change colors depending on if you have Azure Flames or Twisted Puppets.
- While it has good stats and has no endlag, it is severely held back by its useless and unnecessarily high cooldown critical, making players opt to use Nemesis.
- During the Deepwoken Youtuber Battle Royale Tournament on 7/1/2023, Youtuber "Trunks" used this sword to clutch out a victory during the 4th Round of the Tournament against "Floppingman" and "nogo" during the final circle.
- This victory earned the necessary points for their duo to place second overall, giving Lightborn to both Trunks and Agamatsu.
- With Warmaster's Medallion's talent, Actions Speak Louder, the critical cooldown is reduced to only 23 seconds. (If you couldn't use your Resonance anyways, like in 1v1 Chime matches, then it will be reduced to 28 seconds.)
- The model of the flaming swords are identical to the one of the Worshipper Longsword.
