Description[]

Funke is an NPC who acts as both progression for the Silentheart Oath and the Thundercall trainer.

In order to obtain Thundercall, you must bring 5 Spark Glands to Funke (2 if you have already obtained the attunement). Alternatively, if you have obtained the Silentheart Oath, you must kill them in order to get one of five Oath Talents. They are found at the 2nd floor of the Summer Isle's castle inside the alchemy room.

Moveset[]

Funke's arsenal consists of a Stormseye along with the Thundercall attunement:

Name Description Parryable? Blockable? Danger
Assault Performs 4 basic attacks before sending the opponent away with a flourish. (★☆☆)
Critical Charges the rifle up before circling around the opponent, appearing in short flashes as they fire shots. (★★★)
Jolt Grab Teleports to the nearest target before sending out a shocking AoE. (★★☆)
Thunder Kick User performs an empowered lightning kick, shocking and knocking away any opponents. (★★☆)
Strong Left User performs a wind-up before throwing a powerful, flinging punch that shatters the air. (★★☆)

Talents[]

  • Perfect Flash - If Funke has full Health, his mantras do 25% more damage.
  • Impervious Slumber - If Funke gets hit while knocked, his knocked timer isn't reset.
  • Authority Intimidation - All of Funke's Thundercall mantras slow opponents more.
  • Resolve Crusher - Funke's Thundercall mantras has a chance to inflict 'Electrify', which converts Electrified targets' attacks into lightning damage and reduces damage against Funke by 10%.
  • First Interrogation - Getting attacked by Electrified targets restores Funke's ether.
  • Second Interrogation - Electrified targets deal 50% less damage and posture against Funke.
  • Jolting Current - Funke's Thundercall mantras strikes other people in the water.
  • Static Link - If Funke lands a flourish or uppercut, a link between him and the opponent gets created. While the link is active, his Thundercall mantras stun 50% more.
  • Jumper Cables - If Funke takes fatal damage while Static Link is active, he steals some of the linked victim's HP and remains unknocked.
  • Static Allure - If Funke is linked to 2 targets, both of the targets get pulled together and deals blunt damage to each other.
  • Static Blade - Hitting blocks, blocking or parrying hits will give Funke's a speed buff stack that caps at 10 stacks.
  • Overcharge - After Static Blade procs, Funke's next dash is enhanced by lightning.
  • Gathering Electricity - Upon reaching 10 stacks with Static Blade, Funke's Stormseye gets buffed.
  • Static Withdraw - Bodies that Funke knocks will shock anyone that picks them up.
  • Stratoshock - Funke's Thundercall mantras deal more damage in the rain.

Finisher[]

Funke executes his opponent after knocking them:

Name Description
Execute Pins down opponent before shooting the head of the opponent.

Tips[]

  • Funke is the only trainer to be a percieved "threat" due to his ability to use decent Thundercall moves.
  • Fight Funke on the balcony next to the room he is in, unless getting Silentheart at max level.
  • Heavy Users: M1, feint, critical, repeat. This will stunlock him. This is the Duke effect. On vent, feint the air. He'll try to parry. If he doesn't, hit him anyways. He will either block or parry, and you'll be able to start the combo again
  • Fist Users: Fight him like you would an enforcer.
  • His critical should be avoided at all costs.

Trivia[]

  • Both he and Nell wear the Black Diver outfit. According to Arch_Mage, they are most likely Black Divers.[1]
    • If they are indeed Divers, this would make him and Nell the oldest, physically, known Divers, as they are the only Divers with wrinkles.
  • Funke is the German word for "spark".
  • He did not wield the Stormseye, after its addition in the 6/5/2023 update, despite both being at Summer Isle and it being a Thundercall based weapon. This was finally corrected in the 11/10/2023 update, a staggering five months later.[2]
    • This is most likely due to the laziness of the Developers, as the Stormseye was added after his Enemy variant was.
