Description[]

Gigameds are player-sized glowing light-blue Jellyfish that are commonly found all across the First Layer. They have 8 cnidocytes across their body, and their lower half seems to be somewhat disconnected from their upper half. As while idling, their lower half seems to do somewhat of a breathing motion. Slowly rising up, and then going down. When killed, they emit large blue and purple blobs as their head is torn from their tentacles. Recommended for low-powered players due to its ease of fighting and stunlocking, even in groups, though they give very little XP. Gigameds are commonly referred to as "healthpacks", giving free health to whoever is in need due to ease of killing, they also give back Sanity with Conquer your Fears, or Food with Carnivore.

Also commonly referred to as Jellyfish.

Attacks[]

Name/Danger
Description
Electric Stun Pulse
(★☆☆)
Sends out a spherical pulse attack that inflicts a brief Shock debuff.
  • Deals ~15 damage.
  • This attack can only hurt 1 player at a time, despite looking like an AOE.
  • Before they do this, there is a brief flash above their heads if you look closely and they will flash purple, as an indicator of an unparryable attack. Though, it is nearly impossible to react to, especially with higher pings.

Trivia[]

  • You can sit on a Gigamed.
  • Gigameds have blue blood.
  • Gigameds can do small leaps to send out an aerial pulse attack if they feel it is necessary.
  • To prevent stunlocking, they are the only non-humanoid mobs that are kicked back after a combo. They can also be dazed by knocking them into a wall.
  • Electric Stun Pulse is one of the few attacks that can't ever be parried, even with Talents that allow you to parry un-parryable attacks.
  • Gigameds give little to no EXP, so don't farm them thinking it's a safe & slow way to progress.
  • Gigameds can't naturally be corrupted.
  • Gigameds have the highest lightning resistance in the game out of any monster, taking almost zero damage from Thundercall Mantras.
  • There currently exists a glitch where gigameds can teleport on top of a player if they use an aerial attack.
  • Can be dangerous when jumping over the void or fighting other mobs as their attack stuns you for a brief second and potentially throw off your parry window and ruin your momentum.
