Description[]
The Guiding Star is a Legendary Bow; an astral, luminous bow that fires arrows with the mind of its wielder. It takes the shape of antlers as bow limbs with glowing strings woven near the ends of it. It scales with Medium Weapons alongside Mind.
The bow is obtained through the "Lodestar Bounty" Job as a guaranteed drop. The Job itself can be found at the Starswept Valley Job Board.
The Guiding Star consumes small amounts of Ether to fire arrows. If the user has no Ether, it will deal reduced damage. If used at longer ranges, the arrows will deal reduced damage depending on how far the user is from the target.
Critical[]
The user slightly lowers down and fires three explosive Ether arrows in quick succession.
Tips[]
- The bow has low damage compared to other options, and although it boasts a sizable range staying further away from your target will cause its damage to be lowered even further, discouraging passive play.
- The M1 cycle of the weapon is awfully similar, and its flourish nearly identical to the second hit, confusing opponents with seemingly random knockback and effects. Make sure not be confused yourself and keep track of your attacks.
- Due to the ether drain on M1 its crucial for users to pay attention to their ether bar, spamming mantras and not landing enough hits will cause you to run out and make the bow deal even less damage. This is specially crucial when fighting Shadowcasters who can and will drain most if not all of your ether quickly.
Trivia[]
- Formerly known as the "Aranea", a weapon that was accidentally released as a drop from Chime of Conflict chests and had an absurd and impossible requirement of 200 Light weapons, rendering it unusable for normal players.
- Both bows featured the same model & appearance, but only the arrow is missing.
- This is currently the only weapon that requires and scales off Mind.
- This weapon deals 24.4 damage at 75 MED and 25 MND with 3 PROF; 28.4 damage at 100 MED and 50 MND with 3 PROF; 32.2 damage at 100 MED and 60 MND with 6 PROF.
- The Guiding Star is the first and (currently) only Bow in the game.
