Description[]

The Heart of Enmity is a Boss found in the First Layer of the Depths, located in the Cathedral of the Interstice. A gargantuan creature wrought of iron and animosity and far superior to any mere Enforcer, it is a creation of the Voice of Enmity, a response to those making a mockery of the Trial with sheer numbers.

To summon it, at least 5 players need to enter the Depths trial at the same time, and one player must have at least 60 difficulty score (+3 score per Power and +1 score per Drown).

The Heart of Enmity possesses 65% oath damage resistance, 90% elemental resistance, ?% PEN reduction and is immune to all enchantments. It is also immune to potion effects. Has an unknown (but noticeable) amount of resistance to Damage versus Monsters and partially ignores Monster Armor (He has PEN).

Moveset[]

!!! Do not attempt to block the Heart of Enmity's moves, even if the wiki says they're blockable. While some attacks can be blocked with over 50 posture and Ardour, it is not recommended due to the high risk of posture breaking.

All moves instantly grip the opponent if they are knocked. Enmity Servants are also capable of executing downed players.

Name Description Visual Demo
Enmity's Call
(★★☆)
The Heart of Enmity raises his axe into the air and summons 3 Enmity Servants, which are Soul Enforcers with bright yellow eyes.
  • These serve to heal you during the fight via killing them.
  • Each Servant has 8,000 HP, and does not scale per player.
  • Posture break moves have the same effect as in bosses.
  • They don't have the Enforcer Pull or Whirlwind attacks.
  • Carnivore is disabled against the Servants of Enmity.

Uppercut of Enmity
(★★★)
Heart of Enmity kneels down and grabs a nearby player, tosses them up then bats them with his axe.
  • This attack rarely can also be used to attack other outlier players trying to heal, when he bats them the victim can be batted towards another person and collide with them which can end up killing them or the other.
  • It is best advised to try blocking this attack instead of parrying/dodging as he will punish you for both, you need good posture + the Ardour Murmur however.

Strategies[]

Offense/General[]
  • It is recommended to fight the Heart of Enmity with only 5 people, as each extra player adds another 30 thousand health to the boss, and makes it difficult to not friendly fire.
    • Keep in mind that more players will bring more loot.
  • Fight the Heart of Enmity in teams of one or two, taking turns to engage the boss. Rest and switch out with teammates as needed to manage the battle effectively.
  • Be mindful of Enmity's very wide hitbox on most of his axe swings. They have an almost 270° radius from where he is currently facing and can often catch players to his sides off-guard.
  • Try not to hit allies with your offensive bells or high damage moves.
  • Wearing the Grand Fisher Plate or ignition gauntlets or using the Ignition Deepdelver outfit is recommended, because it allows you to parry all of his non-parryable attacks.
Support[]
  • Although not needed, bring a support build with either Linkstrider or Blindseer, as both oaths heal immense amounts of HP.
    • It is also recommended to have vow of mastery on the slot, as although not necessary, most support builds possess one already and are also quite helpful.
    • Focus on distracting the servants from attacking whoever Enmity is currently targeting
Survivability[]
  • Get the talent Mythic Stability, as it makes you ungrippable to auto-grip abilities, which is useful against the Heart of Enmity’s auto-grip attacks.
  • Have one person bring a repair kit or two, as the boss does a lot of armor damage (note that campfires and Graceful Flames, even with Undying Flames, are unusable in the Depths Trial (alternatively you could just not be hit once)
  • If you're struggling with blood levels you can use Bloodrend to obtain Mantras that create blood pools to heal your blood by standing in them.
    • Alternatively, you can also get grand feast and use it to heal blood from the enforcers spawned or run the multiplicity armor enchant.
Resonances[]
  • Corrupted Payback is amazing for damage and support. Make sure you get the beam variant of it and stay FAR away from teammates right before use to prevent friendly fire.
  • Corrupted Sacred Field is also amazing for general survivability.
  • Corrupted Run It Back is another amazing choice, as it heavily increases survivability and is great for killing enforcers with its hyperarmor.

Trivia[]

  • The Heart of Enmity is the first ever Scyphozia Boss added.
  • The Heart of Enmity has the highest base health out of any entity in the game.
  • It was briefly able to spawn corrupted, which was restorable.
  • It is unclear if the Heart of Enmity is the physical form of the Voice of Enmity, or just a stronger monster variant used in the trial. However due to the dialogue given after defeating the boss, it implies that the creature is a physical form of the Voice of Enmity (as opposed to the other conjurations).
  • Their summons are internally referred to as ".enmity_enforcer_WEAPON"
  • There was a bug that could instakill/void the boss by hitting the back of its neck with Rising Thunder or Rising Wind, as it would teleport far outside the confines of the arena, upon which it would die.
  • Before the World Events update, which added the boss, going to the trial with 5 or more people at once would force the participants to fight until one remained.
