- “ INFERIOR. ”
Description[]
Immortal Guardians are humanoid mobs that can be found in Crypt of the Unbroken. They spawn in groups in the halls.
They are people enhanced through experiments by The Ministry, their helmets binding to their mind and controlling them.
Immortal Guardians seem to wear what resembles some sort of futuristic armor, similar to the original Arcwarder Armor, with a unique symbol located in their chest, concealing their aspect and gender. Under unknown conditions, the glowing white parts on their armor will glow red instead, turning them into the more powerful Nightmare variant.
Description[]
Nightmare Immortal Guardians can be found in Crypt of the Unbroken. They spawn in groups in the upper floor's halls or sometimes in the lower floors, replacing the normal Immortal Guardians.

Immortal Guardians seem to wear what resembles Arcwarder armor, with a unique symbol located in their chest. Unlike the normal variant, the symbol and every glowing part turns red, raising their healthpool considerably while also seemingly increasing their tendency to parry attacks and wield Enchanted weapons.Moves[]

Tips[]
- Immortal Guardians are rather tanky, especially Nightmare ones, and have one of the highest posture pools in the game, surpassing some bosses in terms of posture. It's easy to get overwhelmed by them, considering they spawn in groups, so be careful and make sure to isolate each one.
- Best way to kill them is either Parry-Trading or using weapons with high chip damage, as they do have a habit of blocking attacks rather than parrying due to their high posture pool
- Nightmares can take way more posture than their little brothers, so some mantras that Guard break them will most-likely just be blocked normally by them.
- Nightmares will always spawn with a random Enchant on their weapons, so pay close attention to the visual effect that their weapon will have to see what you're fighting against, as some of these enchants, will punish you far harder than you'd expect from an NPC.
- Nightmares have a chance to replace the regular guardians on the first floor, so tread with caution when the guardians on the first floor respawn.
- Once you knock them it's advisable to carry them to the exit as gripping them inside the voidzone would alert nearby NPCS. Worst case scenario you're gonna alert all of them including the Alpha Megalodaunt and the nightmare guardians in the second floor.
- Sometimes their anti gank breaks and they start fighting you no matter what instead of stepping away if you are already being attacked which makes them VERY dangerous in groups

Trivia[]
- Removing their armor reveals them to be Etreans sporting the Authority Peacekeeper Armour. This was likely done simply because they look visually appealing when combined with the armor, rather than as anything lore significant.
- The regular Guardians are the Vile Etrean variant while the Nightmare Guardians are Vile Etreans with a slightly darker skin tone, reinforcing that there is no real significance to them being Etrean.
- Their helmet is a reference to that of Bondrewd’s from the anime and manga franchise, Made in Abyss.
- They speak in all capital letters, much like the Golem Constructs.
- The only exception to this are pieces of stock dialogue used by other generic NPCs.
- According to TheRealPunchee, the armor that Immortal Guardians wear was actually the original design of the Arc Suit for the Arcwarder Oath, created before the sketches for the current Arc Suit were even a thing.
- The "Crypt Arcwarder" as it's called in the video was ultimately scrapped due to not fitting the current artstyle of Deepwoken.
