Description[]

An explosive formerly used for demolition, now used to demolish all. It can be thrown with the keybind 'E'.

The base maximum amount of bombs you can hold is 99, though can be surpassed by with the Packmule Boon.

Obtainments[]

To gain this recipe, you will have to talk to Lucien at Songseeker Wilds nearby the gate of Ancient Rotlands. Talk to him and purge Mineskippers. Talk to Lucien once you've purged them all and obtain the Family Recipe Talent. After this you will be able to receive Talents from the "Saboteur" Talent tree which allows for more ways to play around with your bombs.

Recipe[]

2 Iron + 1 Coal at any Crafting Station, this requires the Family Recipe Talent.

Uses[]

The iron bomb is a great damaging tool for those who wish to put time and effort into crafting them.

  • Pressing M1 or your left mouse button lets you place your bomb down, it detonates after 3 seconds of being placed down.
  • Pressing E on your keyboard allows you to throw your bomb in the direction of your cursor. This has a 5 second cooldown.
    • You cannot use bombs mid-animation and vice versa.
    • These keybinds cannot be changed.

Movement[]

The Talent Hot Potato allows the user to gain a noticeable speed boost when thrown. It does not work when pocket bombs is procced or when a bomb is placed down.

You are able to get up to high obstacles by propelling yourself using your bombs. You can throw a bomb under you whilst airborne or time your jump with your placed down bomb. Your bombs can't damage you.

Talents[]

  • Family Recipe - You can now craft bombs at a crafting bench.
    • Allows you to create Iron Bombs.
  • Incendiary Formula - Bombs will set your enemies on fire upon detonation, as well as launch with more force. Bombs will deal 20% increased damage to burning enemies.
    • Bombs now light your opponent ablaze. This burn is completely identical to that of Flamecharm's, despite the changelogs stating it scales on your Intelligence attribute.
    • Bombs gain +20% damage when hitting a burning target.
  • Sulphur Surprise - Your cooldown for throwing bombs will be shortened after your first bomb damages an enemy.
    • Lowers the cooldown of your next bomb throw by 1 second (from 5 seconds to 4).
    • Has a 20 second cooldown.
  • Hot Potato - Gain a large boost of speed after throwing a bomb. Your bombs have a chance to detonate twice. (+6 Passive Agility)
    • Thus speed boost lasts 2 seconds.
  • Explosive Efficiency - Crafting a bomb will yield two bombs. Chance to make three.
    • This Talent is a must take as it will greatly increase the efficiency of your bomb crafting.
    • Requires Hot Potato.
  • Pocket Bombs - You have a chance to activate a bomb in your inventory when damaged. (+1 Health, +5 Carry Load)
    • When hit, you have a chance to drop 2 bombs at your feet. This only consumes a singular bomb.

Information[]

  • Bombs deal 10 typeless damage at base with 35 Intelligence scaling; gaining +0.35 damage every investment point into Intelligence and capping out at 45 typeless damage with 100 Intelligence.
  • Because bombs deal typeless damage, they ignore physical and elemental resistances.
  • Iron Bombs can be buffed with universal damage modifiers such as Taunt or Ardour Scream.
  • Bomb usage has a 5 second cooldown.

Tips[]

  • Getting Family Recipe early on in your progression and using the Mystic will help immensely, as these Talents often have very low weighting.
  • Just like any other burn source, you can increase the effectiveness of your bomb-applied burn with Talents such as Azure Flames or Corpse Explosion.
    • Your Incendiary Formula bombs will apply Puppet Burn, spawning puppets if you have Twisted Puppets or create Eruptions if you have Eruption Path.
  • The Excavator Talent will greatly help with gathering materials for bombs, as it has a chance to double your mining output.
  • The Miner's Hardhat equipment grants two Talents, one of which being the aforementioned Excavator with the second being Rock Blaster; this will double your mining output with a chance to quadruple it through Excavator. This equipment is a must have when it comes to farming for bombs.
  • Coal can be purchased from any Blacksmith for 15 Notes2.
  • The Viper's Jaw is home to many materials needed to create bombs, having a rich balance of coal and iron.
  • If you manage to get your hands on Pumpkin Pitch, you can use this as a feint for your bombs, keeping your opponent busy and unsure whether you're throwing a fake or real bomb.
