- “ A measure of concepts and ideas that have wormed their way into your mind. Used for rituals and strange bargains, Knowledge can change fates. ”
Your Knowledge grows...
Prior to Verse 2, if one wanted to make a specific build, then it would be entirely up to luck on whether or not they would be able to obtain this build—aside from using methods to narrow down Whisper cards and using Aces to clear up any unwanted Talent cards. This often led to a round of wipes until the player (now tired and exhausted) eventually obtained their desired build- or at least, an image of it.
With the advent of Verse 2, these acts are left in the past. One can now thoroughly customize and change up their build- Talents, mantras, undo burns, and more using the many Deep Shrines around the overworld, and can even gain as many bell rerolls as one desires through the fabled Misérables so long as they have sufficient Knowledge.
Overview[]
Knowledge is a special in-game currency that can be used to engage in a deals with various Deep Shrines and the deity known as Misérables. Its function serves similar to Notes in the sense that you can purchase various things to help benefit your character in specific ways; however, Knowledge-related services reap much higher benefits for the player, such as gaining the ability to reroll your Resonance again.

The Simple Flaw decreases Knowledge gained from all sources by 25% (rounds up). Gaining 1-3 Knowledge at once will have no change, but a tax will be applied once 4 or more is gained at once. Gaining an even amount of Knowledge that is not divisible by 4 will cause it to round up.
The Insightful Regalia increases all knowledge gain by 1.5x, rounding up to the nearest whole number. This Regalia persists on death if your level was low enough when you wiped.

Usage of Knowledge and Specifics[]
As stated at the beginning of this page, Knowledge can be used to bargain with powerful objects and beings.
Each transaction is conducted via dialogue option, with Knowledge being consumed instantly after the deal is done without any warning message or notice and will be lost permanently. Before making a deal, it's advised that you are absolutely ready to make the desired exchange- and go slowly through the dialogue, because most times, there is no going back once the deal is made (such as in the case with Shrine of Order).
- Engaging in a deal with Shrine of Order or performing a Talent elevation with Shrine of Chance costs 10 Knowledge. Ganymede reduces the Knowledge cost of these Shrines by 1.
- After making a deal with the Shrine of Order, whatever was done to your build CANNOT be undone. Make sure you are absolutely ready to make the deal before you commit.
- Engaging in a deal with Shrine of Division, Shrine of Chance (for most deals), Shrine of Unification, or Shrine of Blasphemy costs 5 Knowledge. Ganymede reduces the Knowledge cost of these Shrines by 1.
- Using Shrine of Blasphemy when below Power 17 will level you up 3 times, almost offsetting the Knowledge cost entirely.
- Engaging in a deal with Shrine of Conceit or Shrine of Mastery, costs 1 Knowledge.
- Purchasing Clarity from Misérables, costs 15 Knowledge. If you wish to stack Clarity wishes, it costs an extra 5 on top of the previous Knowledge cost. (e.g. 15 -> 20 -> 25 -> 30; by stacking a mere 4 wishes, you have spent a total of 90 Knowledge.)
- Purchasing an item from a Blacksmith using Seasonal Medals, this can range from 1 to 10 Knowledge depending on the item.
- Purchasing Enchant Grease from Laplace, costs 5 Knowledge per Grease.
- Fully progressing your Oath, costs 10 Knowledge. This can only be done if you've fully progressed the Oath previously on another character. Speak to the Oath giver to perform this action. Note: Bladeharper, Chainwarden, and Soulbreaker cannot be skipped this way.
- Changing your Resonance shape at a Barber, costs 1 Knowledge.
- Performing a Vow of Safekeeping, costs 1 Knowledge. The Vow of Safeholding allows you to bank any Enchanted item, any Soulbound item, or any Relic-tier item. The items can be removed from the bank at any time for free.
- Using the Sacrificial Boon Talent on Ritual Sacrifice, consuming 5 Knowledge per use.
Trivia[]
- Knowledge functions similarly to Insight, from Rogue Lineage and Tales from the Valley, which in turn are references to Insight from Bloodborne.
- Obtaining Knowledge through normal means is inefficient, and thus not recommended for grinding (unless you are in need of emergency Knowledge before using Shrine of Order).
- Power-gained Knowledge will be enough to make a deal with the Shrine of Order at Power 10.
- Ganymedes have a special racial bonus that make Deep Shrines cost one less Knowledge point to make a deal with.
- Most Deep Shrines will cost 4 Knowledge.
- Shrine of Order and Shrine of Ostentation will cost 9 Knowledge.
- The Shrine of Conceit and Shrine of Mastery are unaffected, and will still cost 1 Knowledge.
- An icon identical to the old Knowledge icon was in the game during the early beta. Its purpose was unknown.
- Knowledge is not simply just knowing about things; it is specifically "forbidden knowledge" as described by Klaris, which explains why it is valuable enough to be traded with other beings.
- As such, the Moonseye Tome likely floods the user's mind with aforementioned forbidden knowledge. As the cacophony and madness of the voices decreases, so too does the Knowledge granted by the tome.
- In an unknown update, the symbol for Knowledge was visually touched up.
- There was a bug introduced in the 30th of June 2025 update that made every enemy kill grant knowledge, leading to players amassing thousands of knowledge. This was hotfixed in a patch the same day.
