Description

Laplace is a Ganymede who wears the Hive Drone outfit with a Big Alchemist's Hat.

Handing in three Enchantments will apply a random one on your currently equipped weapon. Additionally, for each Enchant you give to Laplace, the total amount is tallied

Requirements and Restrictions:

  • You must be power 8 to give enchants to Laplace.
  • Laplace can accept both Enchanted and Soulbounded weapons or equipment.
  • Laplace cannot enchant legendary weapons or weapons that cannot hold and enchant.
  • Laplace cannot enchant duped weapons.
    • It's impossible to know if your weapon is duped if you trade for it.
  • Laplace cannot imbue weapons with Enchantments that are either unique or came out after the Verse 2 update.
    • This includes: Tears of the Edenkite, Nemesis, Stormbreaker, Solar, Astral and Harrowing.

Laplace will also give a random Enchant Grease for 5 Knowledge when accessing his Shop UI.

Location

Laplace is located at Greathive Aratel in the R&D section of the Heart Plaza.

Dialogue

Nice to meet you, I am Laplace Diri, someone tasked with reclaiming things the Hive has misplaced, it seems you have at least one of those items on your person.
Misplaced?
Hand over 3 pieces of Enchant equipment, and in return I'll grant you an Enchantment on the weapon you're currently holding, if it is eligible.
Okay, I'll hand this in. Eligible weapon?
Enchant in hand Ineligible Item Nothing in Hand That's right an eligible weapon, so your bare hands don't count, and nor do weapons imbued with an effect beyond an Enchantment.
*He carefully takes the item from your hands, wrapping it tightly in linen.* Much appreciated. 2 more to go. Thats... Not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for pieces of Enchant equipment or weaponry. Hand what in? There's nothing in your hands. Okay, remind me again how this works.
End Sorry, here it is. Hand over 3 pieces of Enchant equipment, and in return I'll grant you an Enchantment on the weapon you're currently holding, if it is eligible.

Hello again, are you ready to make the trade? I see that you have a piece of misplaced property on you. Good of you to stop by again. You've given me [X] out of 3 Enchant items. If you give me the full 3, I'll enchant your equipped weapon.
Yes I'm ready.

Good of you to stop by again. You've given me 2 out of 3 Enchant items. If you give me the full 3, I'll enchant your equipped weapon. Ah, there you are. Are you ready to receive your reward?
Okay, I'll hand this in. Yes, I'm ready to receive my reward.
*He carefully takes the item from your hands, wrapping it tightly in linen.* Excellent. Your reward is ready whenever you would like it. Player hands in an Eligible Weapon Player attempts to hand in an Ineligible Weapon
Okay, I'm ready to receive my reward. Okay, could you confirm that you would like me to enchant your [Weapon]? It will be soulbound to you and you alone, and will receive a random enchantment. Your [Weapon] isn't an eligible weapon.

Let's proceed. *A bright green light glows around his fingertips, and he presses them against the surface of each of the pieces of equipment in turn. Something slick and oily seems to peel off them, and with a flick of his hand, he transfer some of it to your weapon. Changing it forever.* [See any previous instances]

Trivia

  • Diri is a unique surname shared only by the 7th Hive Greatlord, Zithori Vhemm Rybak Diri, Hivelord Ximac Diri, and their relative Laplace.
  • To create a Weapon enchant, Laplace combines three Enchants in Linen and then employing a technique based on Zithori's methods.
  • Laplace was moved from R&D to an area in The Lordsgrove when he was given the ability to enchant weapons but was then moved back to R&D in the Verse 2 update.
  • Could be named after Pierre-Simon Laplace who is famous for the Laplace Transform. This is an important formula from calculus that converts the function of a real variable to a function of a complex variable. This transformation resembles the process that Laplace does in-game.
  • Upon subsequent encounters when receiving your reward, if you hand in an ineligible weapon, you can actually get back to the dialogue of handing in enchants again
    • Though this does not tally
