Overview[]
Murmur: Ardour is one of the 3 Murmurs that, when active, gives 20% extra posture damage on outgoing M1 posture damage, and reduces incoming posture damage by 15%, guardbreaking with an M1 while Ardour is active grants that attack an extra 15% damage multiplier. Activating the Murmur will release gentle purple particles from your weapon, and will make a quiet hum alongside whispers as long as it is active. It will also add a vibrato to the sound of your weapon's swings. Running out of ether at any point while using Ardour will cancel it.
By default, it drains a large amount of Ether when used; however, at Power 19 the ether cost is low enough for your ether regen to overpower it, but it will still be slow. At Power 20, activation of the Murmur will be free and your Ether regen won't be affected.

Ardour Scream[]

Ardour Scream is a Common Talent in the "Murmur" category that can be obtained when the user has Murmur: Ardour, 15 Strength, and 40 willpower. Alternatively this Talent is granted to you upon obtaining the Soulbreaker Oath.
When activated, you let out a scream, applying the Ardour Scream status effect to targets in a large AoE. Affected targets take 1.5x posture damage and 12.5% more damage and are forced out of Tacet. This ability does not scale on Power, always draining all of your Ether. Ardour Scream can only be used if you are at 100% Ether, unless you have Soulbreaker, in which case it can be used at a minimum of 40% Ether. Ardour Scream grants a +12.5% damage and posture damage modifier to the attacks targeting the opponent affected by Ardour Scream, it does not make them take increased damage/posture damage by lowering their defenses; Ardour Scream cannot bypass the damage modifier or posture damage modifier caps.
Obtainment[]
Method One - Serpent Slayer[]
Defeat the Dread Serpent either by randomly encountering it in the Voidsea or summoning it with a Ardour Manifestation.
Method Two - World Serpent[]
Defeat the The Doom of Caeranthil by randomly encountering it in the Etrean Luminant as a World Event
Method Three - The Old Stranger[]
Encounter the Old Stranger on a dinghy and assist them by giving them a refreshing drink such as a canteen containing fresh water (you can use ocean water if you have a Purifying Ring equipped), the Condensation Drip Talent, or Redd Juice.
Method Four - Obtain Soulbreaker[]
Obtaining the Soulbreaker Oath will instantly grant you Ardour as well as Ardour Scream.
