Notes() are the standard currency in Deepwoken. They are used to purchase various things, such as Food, Weapons, and tools.
- “ Show me shiny, show me magic! I give you sand dollar. ”
Functions
Notes can be used in various ways, listed below.
Dropping
Upon clicking your Notes on the bottom right, you can choose to drop any amount less than or equal to 1000.
Obtaining
The max amount of Notes you can carry at a time is 15,000 .
- Asking the helper at Etris or the Isle of Vigils will give you 25 or 20 respectively. Only one can be interacted with per character.
- Selling various things to an Antiquarian (weapons, gems, ores, etc.)
- Turning in an Artifact at a Banker.
- Turning in Knowledge at the Soothsayer.
- Completing various quests.
- Echoes can grant a miniscule amount of starting Notes to a character.
Banker
At the Banker you can access your account, a shared storage of notes between all Slots, which allows you to bank your notes up to a max of 100,000. However the transaction of notes between slots depend on your level and trading cap (at level 1 you cannot accept 1000 notes from someone, with the cap being around 900). The banker will inform you of the notes that you have, and will ask if you want to deposit or withdrawal.
Grinding
There are many means to obtain Notes, and some are better than others.
Most Efficient
- 1 Knowledge is worth 300 Notes at the Soothsayer, so the Moonseye Tome or Klaris' Knowledge for Kyrsan Medallions exchanges can give a lot of notes in the long run.
- Maestro Evengarde Rest drops a good amount of items and is very close to an Antiquarian.
- Saramaed Hollow drops items at a very fast rate and the dungeon itself contains an Antiquarian. You can either wait until the last few chests of the dungeon in order to pick up more valuable loot, or extract immediately after reaching max Carry Load from picking up all items.
- Voidwalkers specifically benefit from being able to access Antiquarians faster than other origins if farming Primadon or The Ferryman due to others being unable to access Guild Bases directly at their locations. The former drops a massive amount of items and the latter drops many high-value items. Bear in mind the Voideye cooldown, however.
- Crypt of the Unbroken can be farmed extremely quickly, especially using an assassination-based build. Getting all 5 chests can take as little as 2 minutes if you know what you're doing. However, the rate you get items at is too fast for the Voideye cooldown, so unless you have a guild base with an antiquarian, it won't be as effective.
Somewhat Efficient
- Farming as a Deepbound varies in pace and danger, but the undesired contents of chests are frequently left alone and chests drop a good amount of items. Call of the Deep can be used to return to Castle Light if farming elsewhere in the Depths, but you can also farm near Light's Causeway.
- Ignition Delvers can access jobs from anywhere in the Depths, making events even easier to encounter.
- Experienced players with a good route and sufficient Carry Load can obtain many Second Layer chests on their way to Chaser.
- The following are only accessible for those who can access the Voidheart's Antiquarian as a Voidwalker or a Guild Base's Antiquarian.
- Taking jobs from boards that have numerous quests of the same type, like the Starswept Valley's, causes events to spawn at a faster rate and grants minor other rewards on quest clear.
- Reaching an area where Guild Bases can be placed does not take too long after fighting Duke Erisia.
Not Efficient
- Sea Islands drop a lot of items, but are often slow to reach and clear.
- If not a Deepbound or Ignition Delver, farming in the Depths for Notes is not worth it due to the time it takes to enter and leave the Depths to access an Antiquarian.
- Even at high Carry Load and with proper Origins, doing The Diluvian Mechanism for Notes takes too long compared to the Notes received and the time travelling takes.
- The Moonseye Tome and Knowledge that can be provided by the Mechanism can help offset this, but is highly variable in nature.
