Description
Oath: Blightsurger is one of the 17 obtainable Oaths in Deepwoken. It is an Oath centered on the Wither Status and hindering your opponent. This Oath is associated with The Hundred Legions.

Blightsurger draws most of its power from Sacred Lightning, a result of Galebreathe and Thundercall combining. Titus, the inventor and trainer of the power, used it alongside the 49th Legion -which he was the leader of- to conquer a majority of the Western Luminant in the name of The Empire. He was then forced to surrender himself to The Central Authority for the sake of strategy. It has since been ages since he has been surrendered, and Titus himself has recently began showing doubt in the cause he worked oh-so-hard for.
Obtainment
To obtain Blightsurger, the player must defeat Titus Fulminus Destellus. Afterwards, approach Titus and select his second dialogue option. Finally, leave the Merit Detainment Core and speak to Brutus to obtain the Oath.
The player must have at least a sum of 80 points invested into Strength, Agility, and Fortitude, as well as 40 Thundercall or Galebreathe, and slightly higher than Ally reputation with The Hundred Legions to obtain Blightsurger.
Blightsurger can be reobtained if you Oathbreak it.
Progression
To progress Blightsurger, the player will need to activate Sovereign State multiple times in combat.
Recommended method is to hit training dummies. Attack until your Blight meter is full, then drop a note to be in combat. After that, activate Sovereign Mode and allow it to drain for 1 sec, then turn it off. It is not required to stay in the transformation the whole time or to attack in it.

You cannot oath skip Blightsurger. Attempting to do will have Brutus beat you down.

Status Effect
- Blightshock - Apply 70% of damage dealt as Wither.
- Blightshock is applied through your Sovereign Bangle attacks and Blightsurge Mantras.
- Blightshock from Sovereign Bangle deals 80% of its damage as Wither instead.
- Blightshock can be further buffed with the Blight Pierce, Blighted Touch, and Anchor Shock Talents.
Weapon
- Sovereign Bangle - Cestus used by members of the Hundred Legions. Sovereign State does not automatically activate at 100% Blight Meter anymore
- This Fist Oath weapon is automatically granted upon entering Sovereign State and will automatically be dispelled upon exiting Sovereign State.
- The Sovereign Bangle has the following stats: 30 base damage, 5% PEN, 6 range, 8 weight, 0.98x Swingspeed, and a unique critical.
- The critical is a leaping slam attack, applying Blightshock and knockdown. This attack deals 35 Blunt damage with 3 Strength scaling.
- The Sovereign Bangle retains your original weapon's enchantment and weapon quality value (stars).
- While Sovereign Bangle does not innately have any scaling, you can grant it scaling through the use of Scaling Rings.
- Sovereign Bangle can be enhanced with Blightsurger Talents.
- Blightlash grants Sovereign Bangle 1 additional range, going from 6 to 7.
- Blighted Touch allows Sovereign Bangle to apply Blightshock (70% of its damage as Wither).
- The Sovereign Bangle has the full effectiveness of the Darkened Bastion outfit, allowing it to deal 105% of its damage as Wither when combined with Blighted Touch.
- Blighted Pierce grants Sovereign Bangle +?% PEN and hyperarmor nullification on hit.
Talents
- Sovereign State - Landing physical, lightning, and wind hits builds your Blight Meter. At full gauge, enter a Blight State that replaced your weapon with the Sovereign Bangle and empowers Blightsurge abilities.
- Sovereign State does not automatically activate at 100% Blight Meter
- The Blight Meter gain has no cooldown, and never decays. Landing Blightsurger Mantras grants 15% Blight Meter. Landing M1 attacks grants 10% Blight Meter. Landing weapon criticals, Thundercall Mantras, or Galebreathe Mantras grants 5% Blight Meter per hit.
- There is a 10 second cooldown on activating Sovereign State, started once it ends.
- The Sovereign State lasts 23.5 seconds if activated at full Blight Meter.
- You can press X while having at least 30% Blight Meter to activate Sovereign State early. While in Sovereign State, your Blight Meter will passively decay, and it cannot be deactivated once active.
- This keybind can be changed in settings.
- Skycrash activates a second time when landed while in this state.
- Increases the Wither damage that Sovereign Drive and Warp Kick deal.
- The Blight Meter is similar to Jetstriker's Momentum gauge.
- The Blight Meter can be dyed, however this has no visual effect aside from coloring the bar.
- The Blight Meter can be dyed, however this has no visual effect aside from coloring the bar.
- Anchor Shock - Your Blightshock prevents targets from using mobility mantras.
- This puts your opponent's mobility slot Mantras on a 3 second cooldown whenever Blightshock is applied from a Blightsurger Mantra.
- This does not proc on the Blightshock from Sovereign Bangle.
- Blight Pierce - Your Blightshock attacks pierce through your enemies hyperarmor and gain more penetration.
- Blightshock now works similar to regular Shock, canceling hyperarmor.
- Your Sovereign Bangle attacks, Skycrash, and Sovereign Drive now have +15% PEN.
- Your Warp Kick now has +20% PEN.
- Blighted Touch - Landing M1's during Sovereign State now applies Blightshock.
- This allows your Sovereign Bangle to apply Wither on hit.
- Blightlash - Your swing range is enhanced during Sovereign State.
- Increases the range of the Sovereign Bangle from 6 to 7. Signified by black and white puffs of lightning every M1.

Combat Mantras
- Skycrash - Leap towards your enemies and stomp knocking up enemies caught.
- Deals 35 Blunt & Oath damage, the followup strike deals 20 Blunt & Oath damage. Both hits have 1.65 Strength scaling.
- Ragdolls and applies Daze on hit.
- During the leap, you will have hyperarmor for 1 second.
- While under the effects of Sovereign State, Skycrash will automatically be used a second time.
Sovereign State variant
- Sovereign Drive - Dash forward in a blink, knocking down enemies in your path.
- Deals 18 Blunt & Oath damage with 1.65 Strength scaling.
- Applies Daze and Blightshock on hit.
- Knockdowns on hit.
- Warp Kick - Perform a kick, then warp to your enemies for a second followup kick.
- Each hit deals 20 Blunt & Oath damage with 1.65 Strength scaling (hits twice).
- Knocks the opponent back on the second hit, despite what is shown in the gif below.
- Teleports to opponents within range.
- This attack is counted as a weapon critical for Talent effects.
- Applies Blightshock on hit.
Note: Attacks with multiple damage typings will be resisted by whatever resistance is higher (e.g. if you had 35% Blunt resistance and 30% Thunder resistance, you'd resist 35% of Thunder Kick's damage). In this case, most of Blightsurger's attacks deal Oath and Blunt damage. This means they will be resisted by your Blunt resistance unless you're using Oathless and you have less than 20% Blunt resistance.

Trivia
- If you speak to Titus Fulminus Destellus while meeting Blightsurger's requirements and chose the correct dialogue options, you can still obtain the Oath even if you don't meet its requirements afterwards.
- For example, if you use Shrine of Order or Shrine of Mastery to lower your stats below Blightsurger's requirements or lose Hundred Legions reputation, you will still obtain Blightsurger upon speaking to Brutus.
- If you are an Authority Ensign, you will not be able to obtain this Oath unless you are a Khan or have the Celebrity Talent, due to your reputation capping before you meet the Oath's reputation requirement otherwise.
- You cannot skip Blightsurger's Oath progression with Knowledge. Attempting to do so will result in Brutus beating you up, with him stating: "Should've listened. No shortcuts." This is because, for some reason, doing so would leave Dexerius unable to give the Oath buffs, somehow, for unknown reasons.[1]
- This is Dexerius' fourth Oath. His other works are Saintsworn, Arcwarder, and Visionshaper.
- This Oath was accidentally released early in Battle Royale, allowing players to play a very barebones version of the Oath.
- This Oath is used by Titus.
- Blightsurger's requirements have changed three times since it's addition, and all three changes were done within the first week of the Oath being added. While the attunement requirement remained the same, the core attribute requirement has been changed multiple times.
- The BlightSurger Oath once had a game ruining bug that happened whenever you used Skycrash, you would be launched into oblivion, killing you instantly (similar to AA-gun deaths).
