- “ The Entropy Catalyst generated enough force to fundamentally change your state of existence. You now exist between two states, your newfound clarity making the imperceptible Bonds between all souls malleable to you. ”
Description
Oath: Linkstrider is one of the 17 obtainable Oaths in Deepwoken. This Oath specializes entirely on support. Excels at controlling the battlefield by offering various buffs and granting heals to allies, while also inflicting debuffs and lifesteal for fighting enemies. Granted the power of this Oath is exceptional for fights in groups, having this Oath while alone will hardly give benefits, thus making it one of (if not) the worst Oath for solo players. Together with Oathless, Fadetrimmer, Dawnwalker, and Contractor, it is one of 5 Oaths that have no direct stat requirements.
- “ The world is broken, linked by fragile webs. ”
The Oath is acquired after taking the lives of 4 players and conducting a ritual at the Entropy Catalyst, a mysterious ancient mechanism that allows the conductor to exist in two states at the same time. With the knowledge you acquire in this new state, you are able to morph the bonds that connect all souls.
Obtainment
- Entropy Catalyst Method:
- Knock 4 different players with Oaths.
- Take them to The Entropy Catalyst.
- Place them in the craters, sacrificing them.
- Since the Entropy Catalyst is a voidzone, they will be sent to the depths.
- Interact with the white orb that appears in the middle.
- Pristine Lotus Method:
- Collect 4 Pristine Lotuses located around The Entropy Catalyst.
- Grip 4 players with Oaths while you are combat tagged. Can be the same player.
- Upon gripping a player with an Oath, one of your Pristine Lotuses will be converted to a Scarlet Lotus.
- Return to The Entropy Catalyst with 4 Scarlet Lotuses and place them in the craters.
- Interact with the white orb that appears in the middle.
Extra note: You can use a mix of both knocked players and Scarlet Lotus.
Linkstrider can be reobtained if you Oathbreak it.
Progression
The only way to obtain each ability is to grip players with an Oath. However, this does not always need to be done at The Entropy Catalyst. Entropy Link is acquired on the first grip, then in order, Symbiotic Link, Symbiotic Sustain, and Parasitic Leech. This totals to 8 total player grips: 4 to take the Oath, then 4 more to fully progress it.(Same player grips do count.) Alternatively, if the Oath has been fully progressed on another character before, 10 knowledge can be spent to fully progress it on the current character. To skip the progression for Linkstrider, interact with the slots where you place the people to max it out.
Effects
This Oath grants two Support Mantra slots and one Wildcard Mantra slot. Appearance-wise, its users wear a blue necklace and their irises become light cyan.
Abilities
Talents
- Entropy Link - The world is broken, linked by fragile webs. Traverse the path by stating your destination amidst the flame.
- You are able to fast travel to certain places while resting at a campfire. Locations are unlocked by interacting with special meteorites that are scattered around the map. By sitting at a campfire and typing out the name of the desired meteorite, you will be transported directly to it.
- You can carry objects and people during teleportation. If you are carrying a player, take caution, as there is a high rate of failure (due to overall bugginess).
- The color of the teleportation depends on the campfire color. (EX: Azure Flames lit campfires are blue, regular are red, and the seat in Voidheart causes it to be white.)
- Limitations:
- Does not work when in combat.
- Cannot cross-luminant travel.
- Does not work with rest points (Lockers, ship tables, etc) that you cannot cook food at. As such, it requires an actual, lit campfire every use - ensure you're well-supplied. (Does not apply to guild base campfires)
- You need to interact with the meteor before you can teleport to them.
- Six meteorites can be located throughout the overworld:
- Etrean Luminant:
- Ceres (Overlooking the path to the abandoned cabin below Etris, on a black rocky outcrop)
- Europa (On the top part of the rocks overlooking the entrance to Valley of Heroes, to the right.)
- Fortuna (Above Erisor's Church)
- Eastern Luminant:
- Hygiea (Near Songseeker Wilds Sea Highway)
- Eunomia (On an island with a statue, south of the door to The Lordsgrove)
- Pallas (On the small bit of land by the Miner's Landing's Sea Highway)
- Etrean Luminant:
- Obtained upon killing 1 player with an Oath
- Symbiotic Link - Activate by pressing X while hovering over an ally or enemy. The Links are destroyed when you receive damage from a non-ally, you stray too far or you activate it again. Only one cord of each type may exist at once, links give a 3 second warning in break range, in the warning phase, they can't be broken.
- Blue Cords (Allies) gain a speed boost, 20% dmg resistance, and a 5% damage increase.
- Red Cords (Enemies) gain a minor speed debuff.
- Allows you to passively see the health bar of allies, even when not active.
- Obtained upon killing 2 players with Oaths.
Mantras
Support Mantras
- Symbiotic Sustain - Activate when linked to an ally to sacrifice your own health to them.
- If linked to an ally (signified by blue cord), sacrifice 7% of your HP to be turned into wither to restore 15% of the target's HP.
- It has a 17.5 second cooldown.
- Does not work with any deep gem besides Blue.
- Obtained upon killing 3 players with Oaths.
- Parasitic Leech - Activate when linked to an enemy to leech their own health for a short duration.
- If linked to an enemy (signified by red cord), steal HP from the target in ticks. You can move while this is active, but not block, attack, nor cast. The amount of HP gained from the Leech is a proportion of the target's total HP.
- Leeches 7% of an enemy's HP and gives you the flat amount of HP stolen back.
- For example, Duke grants more HP than a Mindless Servant, since he has a significantly higher Health Pool.
- Parryable. A successful parry on the first tick will cause Parasitic Leech to fail, not initiating its cooldown.
- Blockable. While blocking may stop the damage, it will not stop the caster's healing. Counts as damage towards weak block, making the target unable to block.
- Especially effective against targets who cannot parry, such as Ferryman, healing as much as a bar and a half at once.
- Can be used with Bloodless to heal more health.
- Can be used with a Wind Gem to make it easier to avoid being hit while leeching.
- Leech ticks can proc Hard Read, and most blocking related talents.
- Obtained upon killing 4 players with Oaths.
- If linked to an enemy (signified by red cord), steal HP from the target in ticks. You can move while this is active, but not block, attack, nor cast. The amount of HP gained from the Leech is a proportion of the target's total HP.

Trivia
- You do not need a wallbreak mantra to access to Entropy Catalyst (M1 also breaks the walls).
- You can also climb up the surrounding walls (often with clever Chime of Dwelling usage.)
- Back when Mystics had unique dialogue for every Talent category, Linkstrider had the Mystic line "I create bonds between others."
- Scarlet Lotuses are soulbound; Pristine Lotuses are not.
- Anyone can use the white orb once it is spawned, regardless of who places them. * If you have Pristine Lotuses and put a knocked player on the sacrifice ritual, you should get a Scarlet and a completed sacrifice crater.
