Outfits are craftable forms of defense that typically reduce incoming damage by a certain percentage, based on what type of damage it is. Outfits have limited durability that can be lost through most forms of damage, including physical, elemental, and environmental damage. They can be purchased and repaired at a Blacksmith, which can be found in most larger settlements. They can also be repaired passively with the Thresher Scales Talent. The player has a handful of basic Outfits available to them upon a fresh start, but other outfits require the player to find a corresponding Schematic and bring it to a Blacksmith to be unlocked. Some Outfits grant users Talents or other unique buffs while worn. Outfits come in several tiers, typically denoting their rarity and effectiveness: Starter, Adept, Expert, Master, and Unique. Outfits are lost when a player wipes, meaning they must find Schematics again in order to re-obtain their Outfit.
Transmogging[]
You may also keep the stats of an Outfit you are currently wearing while choosing the look of another Outfit you already crafted. To do this, you must "Transmog" to a crafted Outfit you want to have the appearance of instead of swapping to it. This way you can mislead players with the appearance of your Outfit and max out your fashion stat, or be funny by wearing something like Black Diver for stats while wearing the Diver Apprentice Outfit to make people think you're a diver freshie.
Outfit Stats[]
- Durability: The "health" of the outfit. Depletes by the amount of damage resisted. At 0% durability, the outfit will no longer grant its defensive values. However, other stats like ether regen, stealth and the associated Talents will still be active.
- Physical Armor: Reduce damage taken from weapons and physical mantras. Stacks multiplicatively with the following:
- Slash/Blunt Armor: Reduce damage taken from bladed weapons such as swords, daggers or axes/from blunt weapons such as maces, fists, guns or hammers.
- Elemental Armor: Reduce damage taken from elemental attacks. Stacks multiplicatively with the following:
- Fire / Ice / Lightning / Wind / Shadow / Ironsing/Blood Armor: Reduce damage taken from the element mentioned.
- Note: Against mantras with double typing (IE: Wind + Slash), the highest resistance is used to reduce its damage.
- Fire / Ice / Lightning / Wind / Shadow / Ironsing/Blood Armor: Reduce damage taken from the element mentioned.
- Ether Regen: Increase Ether regeneration.
- Sanity: Gives bonus sanity to the Wearer.
- Currently only the Black Diver Outfit and the Darkened Bastion Outfit has this stat.
- Stealth: Reduce the distance and peripheral vision cone at which NPCs and Monsters can spot the player.
- To see Outfits that grant Stealth, look over at the Stealth page.
- Carry Load: Allows the user to carry more items.
- Currently only the Union Initiate Outfit has this stat.
- Talent: A passive ability linked to the outfit.
Repairing your Outfit[]
The Outfit is the only piece of Armor that loses durability, which can be found on the bar below your Health. When your Outfit reaches zero durability, it will not be destroyed but it will no longer grant its defensive bonus until it is repaired. The most common and effective way to repair an outfit is at a Blacksmith. This will cost Notes, ranging from 1 to 35 notes depending on how low the durability is. However, Armor can also be repaired through 2 Talents (Bloodiron Spirit and Thresher Scales), the Bloodiron Ring or with the Metal enchantment. Armor can also be repaired through the use of Repair Kits. Repair Kits can be crafted at any crafting table using 3 Wood and 5 Iron and can be placed down and used anywhere. They give back about 2000 of an armor's durability.

Trivia[]
- Most of Deepwoken's clothing is made by Rengi.
- With Verse 2, a large number of Outfits were reworked to have an updated, more uniform art style, which caused some upset among the player base at the time. Another reason for the reworks was due to the Outfits' original creator being removed from the development team due to misconduct.[1]
- If you have crafted the outfit before, you can swap back to it again for no fee as long as you are using the same character.
- The Tempestmaker Threads, Sanguine Finery, Icebringer's Vestments, and Stormchanter's Raiment outfits all have the following in common:
- The same description, albeit the first sentence is modified to match their Attunement.
- A flower pattern that is present somewhere within the outfit.
- The durability of unequipped outfits is persistent. If you deplete an outfit's durability then equip a different outfit, your original outfit will still have lower durability upon being equipped again.
- The Knives of Eylis and The Hive are the only two reputable factions to not have a Master tier outfit
- The Expert Veteran Adventurer outfit's design was based off of Sol Badguy, specifically his design from Guilty Gear -Strive-.
- Proof of the Hive Leader's Garment does exist. - this outfit is based on the character "Scaramouche" from Genshin Impact.
- Every Adept tier outfit drops from Lower Erisia chests, which is also the lootpool for general sea event chests and Upper Erisia chests.
