Description[]
The Pale Briar is a Greataxe that is obtained by beating Maestro Evengarde Rest with a Heavy Weapon. It is one of the three guaranteed drops from him, with the others being the Purple Cloud and the Cerulean Thread.
Its base damage is 23, and at 100 HVY, it deals 35.9 damage. All Greataxe Talents work on this, and the critical attack of the weapon is a barrage of light that locks on and tracks the first person hit. It is a multi-hit attack that deals 12 hits in total. This makes the weapon great for stunning and multi hit attacks, while also dealing a fairly good amount of damage
Uniquely to it, each hits of the critical attack can trigger enchant stacks, instead of being limited to the usual 1 stack per multi hit use, this makes enchants such as Grim, Detonation, Chilling, and Curse of Rhaemen's Ember significantly stronger, however, enchants like Astral only proc once during the critical.

The user chants their weapon, summoning an area of damage that grows in size and tracks onto the first enemy, lasting for a few seconds.
The critical has a cooldown of 10 seconds.
The critical scales with weapon investment and proficiency.

- Its critical attack is, ironically, very useful against the Maestro.
- The critical attack will casted to your cursor direction while not in Shift Lock mode.
- The caster of the critical attack is unable to cast mantras while it is up.
- Before the 06/15/2024 update, this was possible, leading to many cheese tactics involving the weapon.
