- “ Conjure sensory particles that drop targets into instant, paralytic slumber. ”
Description[]
Paralytic Dust is a Resonance that players can obtain and is common to roll.
Usage[]
Pressing C will activate the Paralytic Dust Resonance, throwing out a dust cloud that applies the Sleeping and Daze status effects to anyone hit.
Sleeping grants 90% damage reduction, ragdolls, and completely prevents all inputs for a short duration, but is removed upon taking 3 instances of damage.
The sleeping status effect in the First Layer grants full damage immunity. It however can still be removed by taking 3 instances of damage.
If Paralytic Dust is Corrupted, it will apply blindness for 5 seconds.
Variants[]
- Throw Variant: Throw dust in front of you, applying the Sleeping and Daze status effects to players hit by this Resonance for 10 seconds.
- Self Cast Variant: Create a cloud of dust around you that affects everyone in a wide area. This dust applies the Sleeping and Dazed status effect for 5 seconds to everyone caught in the range, including yourself. Additionally, this will heal for 5% of your maximum health over the duration of the Sleeping effect.
Notes[]
- The Sleeping status effect cannot be applied to players with Brick Wall (including yourself, removing the healing from the Self Cast variant).
- Using this on a player who is currently using Cap Artist will force them to get up, allowing them to move while under the effects of Paralytic Dust. This is referred to as 'sleep walking'.
- Because Wither damage is based on scaled damage (or is flat), applying Wither can effectively bypass the 90% damage reduction. This makes the Umbrite Witherblade critical especially deadly against Sleeping targets.
- The healing from the self-cast variant is affected by Anti-Heal, but cannot be stolen by the Saint Jay or All Above, Gods Below Talents.
Trivia[]
- 'Sleep walking' works because the game uses the same 'sleep' state for Paralytic Dust and Cap Artist; if sleep is reapplied while you're in the sleep state, the state flips back to neutral, allowing you to move again.
- Uniquely, Paralytic Dust's visual effects can be dyed with Dye Packets by dying your Resonance color.
