Power or Level is the leveling mechanic of Deepwoken that enables players to increase their stats as well as unlock new Talents, Mantras, and select an Oath.
Each level of Power grants 15 investment points to a player, these investment points can be put into any of the skills present within the game which are redirected into their actual stats. Once all 15 points have been invested a player will increase their Power upon meeting EXP requirements. As players Power up further the EXP required to invest a point will also increase. The maximum Power is currently 20.
Once powered up, players will be given a selection of cards to choose from which can be Talents, Mantras, or rarely a fifth card which is fold. Additionally, their health is restored, and their health bar is unstained (if they were previously stained). Hunger and thirst are also brought back to full.
Fold cards will postpone the player's reception of a Card until their next Power up. If you fold, you will receive an additional hand on your next Power Increase. This second hand will be randomized and differ from the previously folded one.
To keep progressing, however, you will need regular EXP, obtained by killing things, visiting new places, turning in artifacts, and more:
- The white sparkling particles mean you are getting EXP, the density showing the amount obtained.
- The yellow/golden sparkling particles mean you have reached an EXP threshold, meaning that further progress is (sometimes) available.
- If you've reached the point where using Training Gear says "I've learned what I can from training right now, I should put it into practice...", those yellow particles usually indicate that you should be able to continue without this message, even if for just 1 point.
- If you've gotten all 15 investment points and it shows 0 without you powering up it means you require more EXP.

Trivia[]
- Before the Verse 2 update, the required amount of investment points was 5. However, this was increased to 15 after Verse 2. This was changed with the Power 60 to Power 20 compression.
- You deal about 30% of your base damage of any weapon or mantra added to your NPC damage per Power level. Remember this when fighting high-level mobs like Golems, Stone Knights, and King Threshers.
- When powering up, you regain your hunger, thirst, blood, along with 'cleansing' your health bar, in the event that it was 'dirty' (for more information, read Combat Mechanics).
