Description[]

Preservation, is a Resonance or "bell" that players can obtain and is uncommon to roll. It can be used on knocked entities to preserve them in a yellow ball that follows the player around at a slow pace. When the bubble breaks, any knocked entities inside will be able to stand again. The bubble can break either when it is attacked (normal variant), when the duration runs out, when the caster presses c again, or when the caster begins gripping an opponent.

Appearance[]

When used, a golden circle appears around the user or projectile. Any knocked entities or players in this area are put into a protective bubble and are unable to be carried, gripped, killed by autogrips, lit on fire, drown, and have immunity to Blood Scourge. The entities will also follow the person casted preservation

Usage[]

Pressing C once will activate the 'Preservation Resonance. If you press C while the resonance is active the duration will immediately end and will also cause captured players to be unknocked.

If Preservation is corrupted, the bubble will automatically parry any attacks against it.

Resonance Point Usage[]

When obtained, Preservation will spend its points on the following stats:

  • Thrown: If this stat is used, the player will instead launch a projectile ahead that will summon the AoE to shield entities.
  • Energy Duration: If this stat is used, shielded entities will be protected for a longer duration.
  • Activation Size: If this stat is used, the ability will yield a larger AoE.

Trivia[]

  • This resonance was added alongside Smite & Smokescreen during September 15, 2023. All of these bells were inspired by AlwaysAFK.
  • Entities affected by this resonance will sometimes become stuck on a corner as the user moves, allowing enemies to simply pop the defensive bubble and attack. As such, anybody looking to use this resonance is advised to corrupt their ability.
  • It uses the same windup sound and animation as Blood Scourge. Ironically forms a duality as while Blood Scourge drains the life of knocked entities and grips them, Preservation does the opposite by shielding knocked entities in a forcefield, keeping them safe from threats as they recover.
    • Both also have similar animations, as well as their variants both being an AoE around the user, or a thrown ball that generates the AoE when it lands.
  • Preservation has a decent chance to fling the player at very far distances, occasionally gripping them. It is advised not to use this resonance in The Depths as it can grip your allies.
  • Possibly negates the Talent Impervious Slumber (Requires testing)
  • Similar to Blood Scourge, Preservation can also work against players that're being carried.
