Description[]
The Purple Cloud is a Boss drop Medium Weapon, obtained after defeating Maestro Evengarde Rest (guaranteed on first win, low chance afterward). It's part of a trio of weapons from the Maestro's arsenal, its counterparts being the Pale Briar (HVY) and Cerulean Thread (LHT). The Purple Cloud mainly utilizes your fists and legs to attack, with the blade itself only being employed during its critical where you perform a single, powerful strike. Effectively, it combines the move sets of swords with those of Fists.
Akin to the Shattered and Alloyed Katanas, the "Paired Soul" Talent (granted by the Vigil Initiate, Cloak of Winds, and Royal Etrean Guard outfits) increases its damage by 5%.

The user leans down and grabs the blade's handle before dashing forwards, teleporting behind the first enemy hit, dealing damage and absurd posture damage with the blade.
The critical has a cooldown of 7 seconds.

Trivia[]
- Meeting the requirement of MED, the weapon deals 26 damage.
- At max MED, the weapon deals 27.6 damage.
- Despite being considered a "katana," the Poser's Ring doesn't work with it.
- This is because the Purple Cloud is sheathed most of the time, and when it is unsheathed for the critical, the blade is put right back in its place, so it would just deal delayed critical damage
- The other weapons that possess scabbards are the Katana, Shattered Katana, and the Bloodfouler
- Despite being a pseudo fist-type weapon, it does not proc/activate Talents related to fists.
- Its critical attack is based on the martial art "Iaido."
- This involves quickly drawing and sheathing the sword in order to attack or defend.
- Currently bugged when enchanted with Stormbreaker; upon using a critical attack, the user will appear to throw nothing but deal damage regardless.
- Despite this weapon looking as if it is a light weapon (using your fists and legs instead of the blade), it keeps the stats of a medium with the average damage, attack speed and slightly below average range as what you would expect from a medium weapon.
- It can only be used one-handed.
