Raen is a Adret NPC in the Voidheart. He gives lore and a few pointers to new Voidwalkers on what to do for progression.
If the player chooses the dialogue option "I see. Can you help me with affording equipment?" a new dialogue choice will appear for Rook Rethige.

| Well, Eylis calls this place the Voidheart. As for its whereabouts.. I cannot really say. We wake up here - in our dreams at night - ever since we signed the contract. There's a lot of details I don't really understand, since the Voidmother speaks only in riddles. Eylis and her seem awfully chummy, though. | Well.. despite the rather esoteric nature of the place itself, everyone human here is a lot more grounded in reality. *He scoffs, glancing toward the direction of the Voidmother's hall.* We do jobs. We're here for money, some for power. |

| Funny you ask, I tried asking her the same thing. I was given a completely incomprehensible answer. No one really understands much about her, but she seems to be the overseer of this place, I guess. Eylis has some sort of deal with her. If you want to talk to the Voidmother yourself, seek her hall. She's.. not exactly like us, though. | *He looks at you with a bewildered expression.* You.. do know what you signed up for, right? We're mercenaries. Maybe not the typical kind, but we do assassination operations for almost every faction within this Luminant for coin. You can take jobs on the bounty board over there, and wake up from this place by talking to the Voidmother. |
