The Railblade is a weapon in Deepwoken.
Description[]
The Railblade is a Greatsword obtained exclusively from Layer 2. It is dropped from any Layer 2 chest at an uncommon-rare rate. The Railblade requires 80 HVY and Power 10 to equip. This weapon deals 35.7 damage at 100 Heavy, and with 6 proficiency and three-star damage, it deals 43.5.
Critical[]
For the grounded critical, the user braces themselves in a wind-up stance emitting the critical particles, applying knockdown, followed by exhausting the Railblade to unleash a flaming blow. Only the secondary hit will apply Burn, and; the first will only knockdown. Cancellable in the initial windup, however becomes uncancellable as the attack itself unfolds.
For the airborne critical, the user hovers and raises their weapon overhead before unleashing a diagonal downwards slash, dealing high damage, short knockdown, and applying Burn.
The flames emitted by both Critical Attacks will proc Burn and any applicable Flamecharm Talents, including different paths & Talents such as Azure Flames. The cooldown for either critical is 9 seconds; they share a Critical cooldown.

Trivia[]
- The Railblade was originally a Legendary Weapon and as such could not be enchanted, but was revised to later be a normal weapon during the 4/5/2024 update.
- The description suggests that equipping the weapon reduces the rate at which parasites in the Second Layer accumulate on the player.
- This remains unadded ingame and as of now is only for lore purposes.
- This weapon was modelled by contributor oNoodlez.
- They took inspiration from Nagoriyuki's sword from Guilty Gear -Strive- and Jetstream Sam's Murasama high-frequency blade from Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.[1]
- This weapon's running attack does not deal knockback to hit enemies, as other similar heavy weapons do.
- The Railblade resembles the make of an Ōdachi or Nodachi, a great-katana from Japan.
- The Railblade was originally intended to be a Thundercall Elemental Legendary weapon, hence the name Railblade (as railguns utilise electricity also had a thundering glow), was also supposed to be an Authority owned weapon instead of Ignition Union, but was changed prior to release due to not fitting the whole theme of the layer.[1][2][3]
- This weapon can only be used in the one-handed stance, allowing access to offhand guns, daggers, and shields.
- NanoProdigy was rewarded with this weapon when he reached 1st place in the Lightborn tournament, making him the first Railblade user along with gifting him the unobtainable Lightborn aspect.
- Previously, Railblades dropping from Chaser were equivalent in rarity to items such as the Curved Blade of Winds dropping in the First Layer.
