Description[]
Reputation represents how the players interact with a faction and how they interact with the player.
The world of Deepwoken is populated by different factions, each with their stories, goals, characters and locations. The player is bound to interact with them in many ways, in which case reputation will play a part in how these interactions will go.
Reputation status[]
The player reputations is a value ranging from -300 to 300, with different threshold granting different titles within a faction, changing how the faction interacts with the player.
Certain aspects of the game, such as certain NPCs dialogue or certain quests, requires a certain status within a faction to be available.
Title | Reputation amount | Effects |
---|---|---|
Hero | 300 | |
Ally | 150 to 299 | |
Friend | 1 to 149 | |
Neutral | 0 | N/A |
Enemy | -149 to -1 | NPCs tied to the relevant faction will attack on sight, including town guards. Player will appear on bounty boards (starting from power 5) and if the player is enemies any of these factions, they can be hunted down by Voidwalkers. Player loses the ability to talk to certain faction tied NPCs, primarily Blacksmiths and Antiquarians. |
Hunted | -150 to -299 | Player can be attacked by randomly spawning NPC Ambushes. |
Villain | -300 | Player cannot pay the Bribe NPCs to reset their reputation. |
Reputation gains and loses[]
Throught various activities and actions, the player is able to gain reputation or lose reputation.
The player can track reputation shifts via status messages, which are as follows:
- "Your actions pleases [Faction Name]...": The player gained reputation
- "Your actions angers [Faction Name]...": The player lost reputation
- "[Faction Name] has/have declared you their enemy!": The player's reputation dropped below 0, making them an enemy of the faction.
- "The perceived threat you pose against [Faction Name] has been reduced...": the player gained reputations throught methods only available while being an enemy, such as dying to the specific faction or paying a bribe.
- "[Faction Name] no longer sees you as worth fighting...": The player's reputation reached/went above 0 after being an enemy.
The player can gain reputation with a faction by:
- Completing quests from specific NPCs
- There are one time quest and repeatable quests available for most factions
- Completing Bounty Hunts
- "Factions without Bounty Boards" cannot benefit from this.
- Helping NPCs in certain random events, primarly Factions VS Factions.
The player can lose reputation with a faction by:
- Committing crimes within a faction controlled area, such as towns
- Crimes include Assault, Assassinations and killing Town Guards or Players within the town
- Killing NPCs from random events that spawn by themselves, without an enemy or opposing faction
Bribe[]
Players can pay specific NPCs up to ~1200 notes (depending on how much reputation below 0 they have) to set their reputations back at their starting amounts, usually Neutral, at 0.
This starting amount can vary depending on your origin, so bribing will not always grant you protection from a specific faction.
Note that only 6 of the 11 factions have an NPC that offer this service.

Trivia[]
- At one point in time, the Summer Company's reputation dialogue was accidentally linked to your reputation with the Authority.
- The "Celebrity" Charisma Talent increases your base reputation with all factions and increases the positive reputation you gain.
- Spitting on a guard causes them and other guards nearby to become aggressive regardless of your reputation. This will give you negative reputation with the faction. This is negated if you have 51 charisma or more, as they will instead thank you.
- Most of these downsides to bad reputation can be lessened or weakened by charisma Talents.
