“ Summon skeletal barriers that trap opponents and launch them across the battlefield. ”

Description[]

Skeleton Key is a Resonance that players can obtain and is uncommon to roll.

Appearance[]

When summoned, a grey wall will manifest, with the bottom part of it resembling skeleton hands and the top embodying a symbol.

If corrupted. the walls become a dark blue/violet.

Usage[]

Pressing C will activate the Skeleton Key Resonance.

Skeleton key will summon a wall, up to five if not corrupted under a set duration. If touched the wall will push anyone indiscriminately, ally or not. However if they press C again, the wall will be pushed forward so long your cursor is aimed at the desired wall.

If Skeleton Key is corrupted, a third wall type can be rolled. When used, your wall is 500% larger. It is unknown if this can stack with the spiked variant.[1]

Resonance Point Usage[]

When obtained, Skeleton Key will spend its points on the following stats:

  • Wall type: Decides the type of wall that will be used.
    • Normal doesn't deal damage on push
    • Spiked deals damage on push
  • Wall Amount: How many walls you can spawn.
  • Duration: How fast it takes to spawn a wall.
  • Range (?): How far a wall can push.
  • Wall Durability: How many hits (ex: m1-ing) the wall can take before breaking.

Tips/Trivia[]

  • Based off of the dev spec ability under the same name used by Zartania, rebalanced and reworked for public use.
    • Purportedly, when released, if a person obtained it in a new server/instance and joined a old server, the bell would function like said specs.
  • Keep in mind that a corrupted Skeleton Key does not guarantee five walls, as the number is still based on the resonance point usage.
  • Skeleton Key walls when activated, will push in the direction you were looking when you first placed them, this means that if you were to place a Skeleton Key wall then go on the other side of it and then activate it, it will push towards you.
  • Skeleton Key walls will always be placed on the level of your character, which leaves them floating in the air if you're hanging off of a chandelier for example.
  • The walls can block ships from sailing, and also are invulnerable to their cannonballs, making them great for shielding your ship as you sail.
  • Make sure to remember that the walls will quickly despawn prematurely if the owner is far away.
  • You can somewhat consistently get pushed/push yourself through walls with the Skeleton Key's activated push, provided the wall you're trying to pass through is thin enough. A good example of this is the Mineskipper cave next to the small house by the side of the windmill in Songseeker.
