- “ If you're not here to buy something, then leave. ”
Description[]
The Summer Company is a faction that operates in their fortified island, the Summer Isle in The Aratel Sea.
As their name implies, they are a merchant Company that is the overworld's chief supplier and manufacturer of firearms and ammunition.
As mentioned in the flavour text for the Flintlock, the Summer Company was founded when a blacksmith originating from the Etrean Luminant returned from his trip abroad, bringing with him the technologies of a foreign land, mainly - the gun, or the common firearm.
They are one of the three factions employed by The Authority.
They frequently come to blows with the Ignition Union, who steal their gunpowder and explosives for themselves. In retaliation, they snuck into Miner's Landing and accidentally activated unfinished prototypes of the Union's security devices, the Mechalodaunts, making the cyborgs aggressively attack friend and foe alike.
They also buy and sell their guns to the Authority, seen by the rifles and rifle spears that some of the Authority NPCs wield.
Reputation[]
As with all other groups in the game, having too low of a reputation with the Summer Company will have multiple adverse effects. The Antiquarian, Blacksmith, Jarvis and all Store NPCs will refuse to trade with you if the Summer Company considers you an enemy. Furthermore, Summer Company Guards will attack you on sight below a certain Reputation. It is worth noting that the Explosives Crate quest/turn-in NPC is not affected by your Reputation.
Another of the adverse effects are if you get to close to the island when you have a bad reputation, a loud foghorn sound will play and a few seconds after you will be shot with a cannon that does MASSIVE damage and can 2 shot the average player.
To restore your reputation with the Summer Company, head to the Bridge behind Fort Summer. At the end of the bridge, leaning against a pillar, is a Summer Company Guard reading a book. Talking to this NPC whilst your Reputation with the Summer Company is favorable will not result in anything, however, if you speak to them whilst you are considered an Enemy of the Summer Company, they inform you that they "Collect the crime tax around here", and will restore your reputation with the Summer Company to being favorable for a price ranging from 30-300 notes. (Ignition Union Members can use the NPC and it takes the Notes but doesnt actually reset your Reputation to Neutral)
In addition, turning in explosive crates and sacks (Starswept Valley and Bluster Rift respectively) allows you to increase your reputation with the Summer Company.
The Summer Company is among the factions to have a Bounty Board.

Trivia[]
- Despite being on very good terms with the Central Authority, the Authority Ensign Origin spawns with Neutral reputation with the Company. In contrast the Divers and, ironically, the Union spawn with Friend reputation.
- There is presumably an Ironsinger among their ranks because the Summer Dragoon armor has Ironsing resistances and is implied to be Mag due to how he can make bullet casings with ore.
- All the named members of Summer Company are named after parts of guns.
