Description[]
Threshers are hostile crocodilians that spawn in the Starswept Valley, as well as in The Depths. They can frequently be found as lone threats or as duos with another Thresher, and more rarely with the King Thresher as a family of Threshers. Their main drop is a Thresher Spine, which can be used for crafting armor. There will usually be a chest reward after you kill this monster.
Attacks[]
Finisher[]
The Thresher picks up the target with its mouth and violently shakes its head before eating them.
Passives[]
- Serrated Claws - Threshers have 100% PEN and inflict Bleed on hit.
- Thresher Scales - Threshers have 40% Physical attack resistance.
Tips and Tricks[]
- When it bites, parry the first attack and then parry the other two using muscle memory. This isn't like the Sharko swipes, meaning you'll have some time to react in between the bites.
- If you see it turn around, it is using its Tail Swipe, and you can wait for around half a second to press block. This will usually parry it and you should be fine. If you accidentally react too quickly and miss the parry window, don't be afraid to dash backwards. You'll usually have enough time to get your roll cooldown back even if it Burrows.
- Threshers recover more quickly from their tail swipe than their other moves. Swing one less time to ensure you can avoid the next attack.
- When you see it Burrow, it is going to pop up to hit you after 2 red flashes. To avoid this, dodge right as you see the second flash. If you are standing still, rolling when you see the first flash may be more reliable.
- Although inconsistent and difficult to pull off, you can space yourself with a spear or gun and kite it from outside of its attack range.
- If you get hit with the tail swipe attack, feint to do a backflip and get back up. This will allow you to parry it's next attack instead of laying on the ground.

Trivia[]
- It is one of the most dangerous and aggressive monsters for lower-leveled players in the Depths. Once they enter their burrowing state, they will continue to follow the player they are currently aggro'd onto across all terrain regardless of height or depth. (This includes the bottom parts/void of the Depths, which is normally a killzone for you and any other Depths monster.)
- You can use Thresher bait to spawn Threshers near water, just like Megalodaunt bait.
- Prior to 10/1/2023, the Thresher Spine item had no description, making it the only monster drop not to have one.
- Originally, no Thresher could swim. If they ended up in the sea they would sink and despawn.
- Threshers are very hostile towards Desert Knights, so if you need to get Threshers off of you, lure them to a Desert Knight.
- There is a unique version of the Thresher known as the Void Thresher, which is the same as the normal variant, just with less health and a more grayscale color scheme as well as white cracks along its body
