- “ My conquests in the West resound like thunder. But here in the East is where I earned my name. With storm-like might and lightning, I vanquished innumerable foes in star-swept Aratel. For that, I am named 'Fulminus', and 'Destellus'. ”
Description[]
Titus Fulminus Destellus is an instanced Boss fought and contained at the Merit Detainment Core within the Eastern Luminant's Fort Merit. He was the commander of the 49th Legion and a user of the Blightsurger Oath before being captured by The Central Authority for the sake of strategy.[1]
A Khan with great stature, he's around twice the height of the player. He has wrinkles on his face and greyed out dreads, signifying his older age. Titus wields the Worldpiercer Gauntlets and wears the Titus's Raiment with his Titus's Cape. He also carries a bell on his hip, signifying that he is strong enough to have obtained a Resonance.
His sheer size creates a physical resilience against attacks, but is also mentally resilient as well.[2] Alongside this, he had a unrivaled, strategic mind, allowing him to catch The Authority off-guard, and even survive when outnumbered.[3]
Upon his capture, he intentionally let his guard down to get captured by Sentinel Augustus, for the sake of gathering intel within the confines of the Authority.[4][5] Titus was expected to retire after a few missions prior to his capture, but may have given up on it after receiving the message from the player.[6]
Initiating the Fight with Titus[]
- Have high 'Ally' or above reputation with The Hundred Legions.
- Speak with Caitus at the Legion camp at Lower Erisia to obtain the Legion Intelligence quest item.
- Having the Legion Intelligence will unlock a unique set of dialogue with Titus. Selecting it will start the fight.

Tips and Strategies[]
- Utilizing Guards for Healing: The guards in the main cell block can be used as a source of healing. However, be aware that Titus can eliminate them with a single blow before even having a chance to deal enough damage to receive a healing orb. They also do not respawn, so this is a one-time opportunity.
- Second Phase Transition Healing: During the brief dialogue sequence as Titus transitions into his second phase, there is a small window that can be used to place a campfire down and recover health.
- Vampirism Enchantment: An enchanted weapon with Vampirism is highly effective in this fight. This is because it grants temporary health rather than an outright heal, which allows the effects of Blightsurge Wither to be bypassed.
- Evading Chorus Divide: Titus' Chorus Divide attack can be easily avoided by gaining elevation. Climbing onto the generator or the scaffolding near the walls will provide a safe haven from this ability.
- Second Phase M1 Attack: It is important to note that his standard M1 attack string appears to be unparryable during his second phase, though this requires further confirmation. Therefore, it is safer to focus on dodging this attack rather than attempting to parry.
- General Strategy: As a general rule, do not overcommit to attacks. Focus on maintaining defense and punishing his attacks rather than forcing openings. It is often more valuable to use healing items and regenerate consistently than to risk taking damage in a risky trade. Stay mobile and use mantras for ranged damage when necessary.
- Prediction: If you land a prediction on Titus's Chorus Divide: Shattering Crescendo it will deal approximately deal 15000 damage which helps out plenty when fighting him. This strategy requires a good understanding of Titus' abilities and timings, fail to do so will pay a hefty price.
Rewards[]
Titus drops a variety of unique items that cannot be found elsewhere.
In addition to his unique chest (see below for the table), an additional chest is rewarded for each participating player, dropping at their feet. This chest can include:
- Weapons: Imperator's Edge, Imperial Staff, Summer Hullwrecker.

| You lost, sprout? You don't look like you belong here. You better have a real good reason to be in my cell right now. | |
| Yep. Very lost. Let me just find my way out. | It's a prison break, go free! |
| Close the door on your way out. | *He grits his teeth.* No. It's not time. |

This dialogue is unlocked if the player has the Legion Intelligence.

| *Titus looks you up and down with mild curiosity.* You again? Tsch. What, still lost? Or is there another message from the Hundred Legions? You'd better have real good news for me, sprout. |
| I bear a message from The Hundred Legions. / Uhh... I am to inform you that... there's been another delay. [Lie] |
| [End Dialogue] |

| ...They'd delay it again? |

| Hah... You're strong, I'll give you that. But I've vanquished warriors far stronger than you'll ever be, sprout. | |||||||
| How'd you lose to me then? | |||||||
| You got lucky. Every dog has its day. But enjoy your breath while it lasts. In the [End Dialogue], everything crumbles... even you. | |||||||
| How did you earn your name? | I'll get going now. [Leave dungeon] | ||||||
| My conquests in the West resound like thunder. But here in the East is where I earned my name. With storm-like might and lightning, I vanquished innumerable foes in star-swept Aratel. For that, I am named 'Fulminus', and 'Destellus'. | Fine. You've earned your leave. Be on your way. | ||||||
| You did this all on your own? | ... | [End Dialogue] | |||||
| *He shakes his head bitterly.* Bah. History only remembers the general, and never the soldier. The 49th Legion followed me with unwavering loyalty, into the maw of fire and slaughter. I was a warrior among their ranks, until I became their commander. With their might and my strategy, we were an unstoppable force. | We're done here. You can tell the Legions I'll play my part for now... Until this plan breaks, just like the rest of them. War has no room for indecision, sprout - you'd do well to remember that. | ||||||
| 'Were'? What happened to them? | ... | [End Dialogue] | |||||
| *He chuckles, with a tinge of sorrow.* Countless fell with valour over the years. So many brothers and comrades lost... The 49th still lives, but I have not heard from them since I got into this sordid place. Perhaps they await me still. *He scowls, briefly.* Or perhaps another commander guides them in my absence. | [See first instance] | ||||||

| Good. Your valour is noted. Then take what you've earned. My respect isn't a prize - surviving me is. Though... If Brutus is alive... tell him I sent you. Tell him this: A withering storm gathers. Lightning must strike the eye of the tempest. | In another time, we might have walked the same path. But you've already made your choice. There's no room for divided conviction. | It seems we already walk the same path. There's nothing more for me to give you. | You? The Legion doesn't even know your name, sprout. Come back when your presence carries weight. |
| What? | ... | [End Dialogue] | |
| Just deliver the words exactly as I gave them. Brutus will understand. *He snickers.* ...Assuming he doesn't crush your ribs before you finish the sentence. | [See Base Dialogue] | ||

Trivia[]
- Titus' middle and last names, "Fulminus Destellus" means "Starlight Lightning" in Latin, mirroring the origins of where he earned his name.
- Titus uses a unique variant of the Chorus Divide Resonance, which is combined with Wind-Up's blasts per hit.
- The placeholder name "Franky Strabes" will appear on Titus' combat tag.
- The theme that plays during his fight is Chainbreaker.
- It is implied that Titus uses both Galebreathe and Thundercall due to the variant of his Chorus Divide being Galebreathe as well as High Inquisitor Merey stating that shocking him with Thundercall only makes him stronger..[2]
- Strangely enough, unlike other bosses, Titus does not drop Pluripotent Alloy nor Ardour Manifestation.
- This is because Titus does not actually die nor despawn when you defeat him most of the time. If you do manage to autogrip him however, he will appropriately grant these rewards.
- Titus second phase can be bypassed when the player uses Poser's Ring (if quick enough) or the Moppet weapon. When this happens, a loot chest will drop and Titus' health will fall to zero. He will then enter his second phase animation and his health will return, but he will stay completely docile and will not attack the player. Killing him again will not give any extra loot.
