The Voices of the Depths are encountered when the player attempts to escape The Depths and in the Trial of One. While they are called voices, it seems that they can manifest in physical forms, such as Heart of Enmity. They seem to oversee The City of the Drowned, with the few that remain there living in terror of them.
The Voices[]
Voice of Odium[]
"General or widespread hatred or disgust directed toward someone as a result of their actions."
- The Voice of Odium is the first Voice to talk when the player enters the Trial room.
- This Voice objects that all of the players are uglier than the previous one, showing obvious distaste and hatred towards the players.
- It hates the player's stench, calling it "nauseating" and wanting to dispose of them as fast as possible.
- Odium appears less malicious than Enmity. While it finds those it encounters sickening, it's perfectly fine with removing them from the premises rather than killing them.
Voice of Sequestration[]
"Isolate or hide away."
- The Voice of Sequestration seems to be the "nicest" out of the Voices, calling the players endearing names like "little ones" and its "lovelies".
- It wants to lock the players in their "cage" as it is "perfect" from it's point of view.
- It knows that the player will inevitably return to the depths.
- They describe the human world as perfect, but it is unknown if these words are envious.
Voice of Enmity[]
"The state or feeling of being actively opposed or hostile to someone or something."
- The Voice of Enmity is highly aggressive towards the players. They are highly sadistic and it sees higher level players "fit for crushing". It enjoys the scene of players being attacked by the monsters of the trial, hoping that the players will be killed.
- When multiple players try to escape The Depths together, it decides that the players deserve true punishment, coming down personally to punish the players for their folly.
Voice of Authority[]
"The power or right to give orders, make decisions, and enforce obedience."
- The Voice of Authority only appears after the player successfully completes the trial.
- It will order the other Voices to send the player back up into the Surface.
- Noting it’s title, and dialogue, it seems to have the final say in all decisions. It's assumed that, they have the highest authority and possibly the strongest among the Voices of the Depths.
Voice of Solitude[]
"The state or situation of being alone."
- The Voice of Solitude is the Voice in charge of operating the Trial of One.
- The Voice seems eager to draw out the player's true strength by testing them through the trial.
- It mentions that the player could possibly be "what we have been searching for". It is unknown what the Voice means by this.
- This Voice seems at least more benevolent than the others Voices who run the Trials. The Voice rewards the "lone warrior" who pass his trials with a rapid increase of Talents, experience, and unlocking their true potential by allowing the player to face true adversity.
