- “ May you become the light that guides the blinded in the dark, may you burn bright as the Authority's undying flame, and may triumphant vanquish you the foes of humankind. ”
Description[]
Warden Jericho is an Adret NPC. He is a high-ranking Authority official.
He appears as an aged Adretian man with red eyes and markings, with a faded scar on his right eye. His hair is a dark blue color, and is combed back precisely to reach the back of his neck, with his bangs asymmetrically leaning towards the right. To the right of his head is a glowing white "crown" in the shape of three four-pronged stars connected with each other, likely as a result of being a Warmaster.
Much like the rest of him, his personality is still a mystery. Unlike most members of The Authority, he appears to actually pity the Etreans, knowing that The Lord Regent is dragging them into this 'war they cannot understand' and sees their Lord Regent as a 'thing' rather than a person.
He dons a Red Royal Duelist and is clad over a Authority Captain Uniform. A gold-colored Warmaster's Medallion sits on his neck and a pair of Vanguard Boots on his feet. He holsters a bell on his hip, signifying his strength to obtain a Resonance. On his other hip, he wields the Rite of Authority.
Location[]
Warden Jericho is located inside the war room of the fortress at Fort Merit.

| *The Adretian officer standing before you is without a doubt the legendary Warden Jericho - every Authority soldier knows his name. He turns his dulled crimson-eyed gaze away from the maps on the table, and towards you.* ...[Rank]. It appears you may have gotten a little lost. Junior ranks have no pressing business in the war room, unless summoned by me. If you're looking for guidance, I recommend seeking Drill Sergeant Kernel Senior at the training grounds. You may be dismissed. |

| *Warden Jericho stands before you, looking over what appears to be strategic maps of the local Luminants. You salute him stringently.*
...You must be Lance Corporal [Last Name]. I was expecting you. I'm told you are eligible for a promotion to one of the divisions. The Command division is open to anyone willing to serve in it, if they are willing to become an officer. Will you serve thusly under my command? | |
| Yes, Warden. | I'd like some time to think about it, Warden. |
| *You salute the Warden. His own salute radiates brilliance.* Lance Corporal. By the powers vested in me, in the name of our Sovereign of Eras, Drallis Ehr, I name you an Officer of the Central Authority. You will server under my direct supervision from now on. May you become the light that guides the blinded in the dark, may you burn bright as the Authority's undying flame, and may triumphant vanquish you the foes of humankind. Report back to me at your earliest convenience. | *Jericho's expression appears inscrutable, but you could swear you saw him smirk.* The waves may rush, but crash they still against unmoving stone. I think you would be a good fit for the Command division, Lance Corporal. A strategic mind weighs all of it's available options first. If you change your mind, you may return to me. |

| *Jericho, the Warden of the East, notes your approach. You exchange stringent salutes.* Welcome once more to the Command division of the Central Authority. As you already know, I am Jericho, Warden of the East, by the grace of our Sovereign of Eras, Drallis Ehr. You would do well to quickly learn that strategic thought and steadfast leadership are key to being an Officer. I would request that you remind me your rank and name. |
| I am Warrant Officer [Full Name], Warden. |
| *You salute the Warden. His own salute has a peerless quality about it.* Good. It is proper to salute your superior officers. Learn and respect the chain of command, Warrant Officer [Last Name]. It will serve you well not only as a soldier, but also as an Officer. I expect you to perform to the best of your abilities, and beyond. I imagine you must have questions for me. |
| Could you tell me more about the Command division? |
| Drill Sergeant Kernel Senior will have given you a basic explanation of each division, I'm sure. But to elaborate on what you know, the Command division is the mind which guides the body of the Authority. The position of an Officer demands steeled, calculated thought. You must understand not only strategic thinking and tactical methodology, but also the comrades who serve under your command - for it is your job to guide them on the field, as well as on home ground. |
| I think that's all, thank you Warden. |
| *You exchange salutes once more.* Very well. You may return to your duties, Warrant Officer [Last Name]. I expect you to report to me once again soon enough. In the meantime, you will perform the tasks demanded of you by your position with utmost diligence. You may be dismissed. |

| *Warden Jericho turns to face you as you approach. You exchange salutes commanding respect. He seems wearier than usual. Has he always been like this?..* Seneschal [Last Name]. It is good to see you again. It is diligent of you to report to your superiors. May your behaviour set an example for others in the Command division. *He procures a pristine weapon, and gives it to you.* Take this. The Rite of Authority. It is your mark of power as a Sensechal. Treat it with respect. [Player obtains Rite of Authority] | |||
| May I ask you something, Warden? | |||
| *Warden nods with a solemn air* Go ahead, Seneschal. You are welcome to inquire. | |||
| Could you tell me about yourself? | |||
| *The Warden sighs without sighing.* I am not entirely certain you will find my personal history particularly fascinating, Seneschal. my upbringing does not exactly feature tales of overcoming hardship in my upbringing. But you may ask regardless. | |||
| How did you join the Authority military? | How did you become the Warden of Fort Merit? | ||
| *His eyes of dulled crimson gaze towards the middle distance, his focus drifting towards the past.* I grew up around military tradition. It was only natural that I'd enlist eventually. Both of my fathers served in the military. One of them, Aladrian, is a decorated veteran of high rank, who served as Warden of the East before me, overseeing a period of peaceful trade. The other, Octavius, is the former Inquisitor Maximus of the Central Authority, overseeing all High Inquisitors. | *His mind wanders in distant recollection.* Once my father Aladrian retired from his position as Warden of the East, I was assigned as his successor by order of our Sovereign of Eras, Drallis Ehr. When I took upon the office, I was instructed to establish a spearhead in the Eastern Luminant. Determining that Fortress Cascabel, a former prison on the outer reaches of Etrean influence, would be the best position for establishing a foothold, we laid siege to it, and conquered it. | ||
| How did you become the Warden of Fort Merit? | That is all, Warden, thank you. | So, Fort Merit was built on a former Etrean prison? | |
| [See first instance] | *You exchange stern salutes with the Warden.* Very well, Seneschal. I expect you will keep me informed of your progress on the field. You may be dismissed. | *The Warden nods.* The defending garrison fought valiantly. But valour alone is sometimes not enough when faced with vastly overwhelming firepower. The Etrean people insist that the takeover was the display of our 'barbarity'. But I would call it a necessary, if drastic, measure. Nothing in Lumen can compare to the evil which sleeps within that Kingdom. | |
