Description[]

The Wraithclaw is a Legendary Cestus; branching spirals of wind around the wrists underset by wraps and sinew which anchor six blades of spectral energy over the knuckles. The Wraithclaw is forged from the souls of the dead carried by the gale giving into claws, to rake and dig into opponents much as their dreading and sorrowful hearts do their own. Its damage scales off both Light Weapon and Galebreathe.

The Wraithclaw comes with a single passive ability:

  • Gale After Cut - M1 attacks now apply After Cut, dealing 5% of the initial damage of the attack.
    • If you have the After Cut Talent, your M1 attacks will apply an After Cut dealing 10% of the initial attack instead of the usual 5%.

Do keep in mind that Fist style Outfit Talents, such as Legion Centurion or Navaen War Chief, work with this weapon, but critical attacks stay unchanged and do not switch depending on your style.

With the minimum stat requirement (25 LHT & 75 WND) to equip the weapon, the weapon will deal 23.4 damage.

  • Around 24.5 damage with the 5% innate After Cut effect, and around 25.7 with the 10% After Cut effect from the Talent.

With 100 LHT and 100 WND, it will deal 30.2 damage.

  • It will deal around 31.5 damage with the 5% innate After Cut effect, and around 33.2 with the 10% After Cut effect from the Talent.

The Wraithclaw can be obtained from the unique NPC named "Grudge" which you have to defeat. Various spawn locations for the NPC are:

The NPC requires uncapped Galebreathe to spawn and initiate the fight with.

Critical[]

The Wraithclaw has two criticals.

For the standing critical, the user winds up a barrage of six slashes, each dealing a small amount of damage & posture damage with low range, with the final hit dealing greater damage and posture. The attack can be cancelled by user themselves by pressing M2, getting damaged or getting parried.

Standing crit DMG: 0.6x of M1 DMG (First hit) + 0.35x*4 of M1 DMG (Middle hits) + 1x of M1 DMG (Last hit) + 10% aftercut DMG bonus

For the aerial critical, the user quickly whirls in front of them, dealing 2x of M1 DMG + 10% aftercut bonus and a massive amount of posture damage. The critical can be also activated during Gale Dash.

Both of these criticals are classified as basic attacks, which means they benefit from things like Berserk's armor nullification and Navaen War Chief's PEN increase.

Both criticals share the cooldown of 10 seconds.

Trivia[]

  • The aerial Critical Attack is deadly if used in Gale Dash or uppercut because of incredible posture damage and low windup.
    • Aerial Critical Attack is not AOE and does the slash only in front of the user, despite the character doing a whirlwind windup in the animation, which could mislead your opponent.
  • It is similar to "Tekagi-Shuko", a weapon comprised of deadly "claws" that protrudes from the palm, utilized by ninjas. Or the weapon might be inspired by the Marvel comics character, Wolverine, specifically his metal claws of similar design.
  • With Chainwarden, one of the claws disappear and are replaced by the chained gauntlet. It is unsure if this is intentional or not.
  • It seems as if your slot has Mute regalia (animal king), Grudge will not spawn on you. (needs more testing)
  • While using the criticals it will play the sound of a bear roaring.
  • The latter part of the weapon's description is speculated to be a meta comment on the common and popular criticism from the Deepwoken community by veteran players.
  • The Fang and Coil running crit is not added with the Jade Vigil's Weave outfit
